Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
I have 2 deep veins in my left calf with clot in them from Scleratherapy. Basically the clots are the length of my entire calf. Although I am now being treated with Xarelto. Because of my first doc, I didn't start it until 6 weeks after the clot was formed. The doc who did this seemed to think at 6 weeks old they are already chronic clots. hat do you think? I am hoping there is still a chance it can dissolve. Also, my new vascular surgeon has me wearing compression stockings (which I have been wearing the whole time). But I exercise and dance and she said, if I get heated up in exercise, I shouldn't wear them. I questioned it and she reaffirmed it without giving a complete explanation. Has anyone ever heard that before? I was told before to especially wear the stockings during exercise as what I do tends to be high impact. Any thoughts?

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Sometimes you have to experiment with exercise at first to see what works for you.
You'll be ok.
The veins coming up your leg are probably a good thing, as it means that your body is developing some alternate pathways for blood (besides the blocked veins). I've got those as well.
Of course, if you feel like something has drastically shifted in terms of pain/swelling, you should check in with your doc.
LissaB. If symptoms continue my advice is to go to a doctor to have this checked out. It may well be that some days are better than others, and you are having one of the days that symptoms are worse than others but however, if these symptoms last for some time then have this checked out.
Call your doc, let him know what's going on.
