Really? What age Arline? I have been getting it every five years for a long time. I think it is like the flu shot.. if you have diabetes or another illness, you should get it.

The magical age must be 40, about Namonina shot, since that's when they made it available to me, but I had to ask for it. My problem is they are likely to push the flu shots on me so I am not likely plus I don't have a bike to go to the place to get my shot and you are supposed to make 'appointments' in advance and this was my problem since I would miss the appointments when I had a bike and then now I have no bike now. Goes without saying I am not a shot fan, but if I was not concerned, this would fall into place at that time.

I was first called to officially have diabetics was 2003-2005 when I had my doctor give me some pills for my diabetic problem, but I last went and had my shot for shot for Pn was in 2001, and I have heard that diabetics which causes weaker immune, but could it be since I had it when much younger and what about high blood pressure? I have no idea, but this was what made me think it was right to do now when I get a ride or I have a bike for getting there. I have made more progress in cleaning up here too. If you have a clue, please tell me what you think about all of this.

It seems to go with the flu jab, I must inquire if its available!

Well, lostonrye.. I DID get the flu shot and I always get the pnumonia shot too. I dont have to get that for another two years yet though. I still think I will get the H1N1 shot when it comes out :)

All the talk about it but personally I don't know anyone who has had it , It seems more of a risk for younger people.
If only they had a one off shot for high blood glucose.

I dont know of anyone that has had it yet either, but I have a grandson here and with all the kids at school, I am afraid some of them will get it and pass it to him, who will pass it to me. Scares the heck out of me!

You have reasons to be concerned about this since kids might not share much, generalization of course, but they share germs and they do so quickly. I hope you don't mind my writing this, but I heard on the local news I'm sure, about an oink oink pig caught the Pig Flu which I haven't heard an update since that time. The media would not want to share this since this would make people want to buy less Pig Meat often and I haven't heard any news about this although I hope to hear the truth about this more recent.

Thay also said we couldn't catch the flu from eating the infected pork. But Hmmmmm How do they know? So much for pork chops and bacon for awhile Lol...
And yes, one shot would be nice for us. I just saw where the young mother gave birth and died as she had the flu but her tests said she didn't have the flu and her husband kept bringing her in to get Tamaflu (sp) but they said no. So sad....

I wanted to make it clear why I say Pig this and pig that. My sister would have pigs when she was married and they would eventually eat them since they were for eating, I thought they were pets, goes to show a lot about me. In the Word of God, they called Pigs Swine as in the story where a lot of them jumped into some water and died, so when I have high blood pressure when I have the additional salt added to the meat which has increased my blood pressure although I found out or remembered there are other names for Pigs so this resulted in my calling it Pig Flu. They do have Turkey bacon and although not low in salt, it seems it was much lower in sodium than the 'Pork' kind. My concern for 'pork' is how it affects my blood pressure and so I know it will not be something I will be going to use for the most part.

I found out Tamaflu is live at least that's what they said and some can't handle this, I have no ideal what that means and why some can't handle it, on Fox News the doc said it has a large immune response, and I am being generous since I have no clue what this response indicates since I showed up before it was over with and I wanted to share this with all of you which I am getting here.

I think pork is ok, as long as it is lean and doesnt have salt. I never eat bacon or any cured meat.

Vernon.. I have already had the flu shot and I never get sick.. well at least not yet, from the shot. I think it can really help. I was so sick every summer and every fall, then i came here and started the flu shot and I am not sick like that anymore. :)

Please don't think I am wanting you to feel bad about getting the shot or making you doubt, my job is not to stop or discourage anything since you know what you are going through more than all others, but I am just following up with what you have said to me. I am not so sure what 'cured' means since I do know about 'brine' is which is basically salt water and most meat I know about has a lot of salt water in it, most of the pig meat I am familiar with has 300-600mg of salt per ounce and its not just pig meat since I had some salty cheese which made my blood pressure go up nearly that amount and some times more so I have to be careful, I have been made aware of the high salt in many foods, but I see a lot more for many other frozen items so that's why I am trying to be as careful as I can with the sodium as I can do so. I have found that soaking pig meat made the pig meat taste much less salty to me, not scientific.
