Well, I got the flu shot yesterday. I have had it every year for fifteen years and have never got the flu since I started getting it. I did get pnnumonia once . Other than that, nothing. I asked my doctor about the H1N1 and she said that I should get it. She said that yes, it is new and things could happen, but it does not hurt your immune system and make it worse. It would never pass inspection if it did that, she said. She said all health care workers are getting it. She said that my immune system is so compromised now, that if I didnt get the H1N1 shot and got the flu, it would probably kill me. So, I think I will take the chance :)

Thank-you for the update on this shot, I am glad your doc took the time to listen about your concerns about this, that is a good thing and important to me. I am sure my Immune system is some stronger and my leg is looking smaller and my mom and Doris said its lighter colors at this time.

That is good new about your leg, Vernon. I am sure when you start walking again, it will get even stronger. I just urge you to listen to your doctor about your flu and swine flu shots :)

Like I did last time? I don't see any problem since I was complaining to someone about my doc and I had to call for another ride, and so I am not sure when I will get another appointment to see my doctor next. I went ten years without any 'flu' shot since I didn't have a ride to the place to get it and my doctors office was always out of them so I have to learn the hard way that it would have been best to take this.

On the news they said they are talking about how much Medicaid will be cut back since many have been added to the 'roles' and this will likely result in more docs who accept Medicaid will be reduced so a bad situation will be worse since I have problems with getting needed medical care as it is.

That is too bad you have trouble getting to your doctors, Vernon. Dont they have a good bus system where you live?
Everything is going up, Vernon and everything is being cut back, Here in this city, they paid 7 million dollars to add on five floors to a hospital and it is vacant because they are cutting back on nursing staff, so there arent enough nurses. That is just SAD!

Where I live, they have lots of ways to get around, Walk, Bike, Your own Car, Bum a ride, Taxi, Greyhound and I get to my Doctors appointments with the 'Medicaid approved ride' and this time its a real ride which I have to call Medicaid and arrange a ride to see my Medical appointments and not like the Medicaid Dental care which keeps me from seeing a dentist. That's terrible that they don't help people who need Medical care since I have been washing some of the dishes washed and I need to clean up since I don't want to get kicked out and I am hoping to get a ride to the Dollar General and get more bug spray and stuff to wash my dishes and scrub pads for that and I didn't have a nurse this week and they have a serious problem with the roaches so I need to get two cans of the roaches and kill them in my living room; you didn't ask for all of this, but wanted to share.

That is the best one to take Lizzy when you get older. Because that is what gets most of us in the end diabetes or not. I get that every 5 years so I don't need it for about three more years this time.

I got my last shot last year for October 15, 2008 and the last time was about 2000-2003 and none otherwise. I am glad you enjoyed the remark I said.

I haven't gotten a Pneumonia since about 2000-2004 when my bike konked out in February 2005 so I don't go to the place for get this shot, I have a real serious concern about this illness since a friend who lived near Philadelphia which is not a fave town to me, but that and a place where they write about stuffies who care about me and so this is not a good thing for my way of thinking. It happened to me when I was very young.

Yes, Vernon.... if nothing else, I would try to get the pneumonia shot. It really does help and you sure dont want to get pneumonia with diabetes. :)

I think the pneumonis shot is only given past a certain age.
