Hi all,
I am new to the site. I came looking for menopause info and support. I am 44 years old, live with my parents. Not married and I have no children. My sister has 3 wonderful kids that I am proud to call mine, I have babysat for all of them all their lives, so they have come to know me as like a second mother which feels awesome. But it isn't the same as having your own child.
Besides having just about every symptom on every site I look at, I have been feeling overly emotional about the child thing. I sometimes feel so alone, Both my mom and sister don't know how I feel, they had children, and my sister is to young to be going through what I am. I recently discovered a doll called reborn babies. They are the dolls that look like an actual baby. Some are very expensive. Well I saw some at the Ashton Drake doll site that alow you to make payments on their dolls. So I thought why not. I discussed it with my mother. Which was a mistake, she said I was nuts to want to start a doll collection. I was angered at first then told her, you must have thought that Grandma Jo was nuts too. She had all kinds of dolls, ones that looked like babies, some all porcalin, etc. A few days pass and I just couldn't get this doll off my mind. Well long story short, I now have the doll. He is cute smells like a baby, and no I don't play with him, I just change him for bed, and put a new outfit on him from time to time. my thought is I am not hurting myself or anyone else by doing this. Why do I still feel like I am going out of my mind? Sometimes I just want to yell.
Thanks for listning to my ramblings
Hope to make some new and wonderful friends,
Hugs from a new friend

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...
