Hi all,
We have a scheduled feature/bug fix release coming Tuesday morning (6/1) with the following new features and bug patches. We will keep this thread updated with details.
Some of the the new features in this release have come from many of you members (keep those great ideas coming). But before we get into the cool new features, we have some other improvements to communicate. As part of a larger and longer-term project to update and improve our site's design, we are making two initial changes with this coming release: 1) to improve our page load times and reduce some clutter we are removing one of the banner ads placements on our pages. 2) to bring more consistency to our site we are standardizing our site's header (or masthead) to the version you may have noticed on our Experts pages. This new/cleaner header also brings more content up the page to reduce scrolling. Again, these are just some initial steps toward a new site design that we think will be cleaner and easier to read and navigate, while still being familiar and welcoming. We are sure you'll love it.
New Features:
- More Recent Activity. Many of you have asked for more than two pages of Recent Activity on your signed-in homepage. We've heard you and added the ability to go further back in time for your friends' status updates and activity you might have missed. After the release, just sign in and check out your home page.
- Ability to disable the DS/Meebo Chat Bar. Members will now have the ability to disable the Meebo chat bar completely. After the release, check out the Chat FAQ for more information or just go to your My Account page and check the Chat section.
- Add video to your journals. With the video embed button on our journal text editor, you can once again create video journal entries by uploading your video to YouTube and then adding it to your journal entry. Or, select any YouTube video to create a multimedia journal entry. After the release, visit the Video FAQs for more information. To see an example and to view the video tutorial, read TeamDS' video journal entry that will be posted on Tuesday afternoon.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue with Chat Now! button. The Chat Now! button is now working on the People page.
- Meebo bar Live Updates. We have resolved the issue with duplicate status updates via the Meebo Live Updates feature.
- Hug Pages accurately reflecting deleted Hugs. We have resolved an issue some members have reported with their hug pages not accurately reflecting the number of Hugs after they have deleted some or all.

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

and disable the chat, log off and go make a cup of coffee or something to eat and then return log back on and enable the chat again that MIGHT work
If not then might pay to send DS a feedback form about it as there may be some glitch in your profile (I get that with my email alerts now and then)
Although the old video audio had problems, I really liked the option of being able to see and hear the person I was chatting with. Some people have heath issues and trouble typing so it was convenient to them.

I am also having trouble with the size of pictures. I am not computer savvy in the least and it is more than likely my fault, but I often get a message that the photo I am trying to load is too large. ?? What is with that and how do I fix it please? The picture, (at least to me) looks to be the same size as the others that I load, so I am perplexed by this.

>Can there be a bug fix so that the chat bar actually shows up? I haven't seen my chat bar for days now... Going on four days... and I really miss chatting with people... Thanks :)
Assuming you do NOT have it set to HIDE, try this .. type it exactly into your browser address window:
Javascript:Meebo.unhide(1); be sure to note the colon, period, parentheses, and semicolon. If this does not work, submit a feedback form.

Unfortunately, DS MEEBO Chat does not offer group chats or video/voice chats.

OMG......I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed this in the wee hours of the morning as I was reading through this...............but I just did it.....and whalla........Meebo is gone!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally:):)

Now is it must me or does DS seem to be working faster and better now that they have finished this lot of upgrades?
Yes I think replacing that all women photo on the sign up page would be a great idea - put up something that more reflects the diversity of membership - men, women, teens and ages, race etc as well.
My status disappeared right after the "change."
Hitting the back button on DS now only works sometimes. And when it does work, it skips pages.
That would be a DS problem .. no doubt.

That SOUNDS like a browser cache/temp files problem. DS does not save 'back' pages ... your browser does. Empty Browser temp files .. heck, even reboot computer too ... (what the heck), and try it then.
