since there has (to my knowledge) been no announcement of a 'new design', I am wondering if it is intentional or a bug.

Site looks 'cleaner' .. lots of 'white space'. I notice a lot of the font sizes are pretty small .. wondering how the vision impaired will like it.

This may be a mistake rather than a new design.

LOL - oh - well I thought someone was busy at work improving the site.

Each community has little boxes at the top - with the various options to click on - and the colors are different. I noticed the change in color last night. When I signed in all of the activities of my friends had big arrows going from one party to the next - like this person hugged that person - and a large arrow pointing the way.

It looks like someone sort of rearranged things a bit.

Oh well - we can hope someone is working on the site - right?

I see the DS site has been "updated". That does not mean good necessarily to me. The pages now are taking forever and a day to load, so the speed as slowed down to a crawl. I dropped membership in one group because it was so slow (over a minute) to view the page, it was not worth it.

Anyway, I hope that the website gets rid of the kinks. Because there are some kinks for sure.

Looks very different .. I notice an ABSENCE of advertisements (I do not have Ad Blocking turned on) except for MEEBO's one ad on the left end of the chat bar.

I sense NO performance problems at all.

Ok - is there now a problem with uploading photos? I tried to upload two photos - both of which are under 1.5 mb's. After I hit the upload button - it acting like it was uploading the photos but nothing happened - no new photos.

is there something new I need to know to upload photos?

@LindaJean - I noticed that you have tons of messages in your inbox. When you access your messages, our system needs to count the total number of messages in your inbox to calculate the right navigation to put on your pages (the page 1, 2, 3... links at the bottom of the page). For an inbox with as many messages as your has, retrieving that information from our database can take time. For most users, their inboxes have fewer messages and the time is takes to retrieve a count of the all is much less.

If you want to speed up your messages, i would suggest deleting many of your older messages.

Now - can you tell me why it says "file extension not authorized" when I try to upload a photo?

I have not uploaded anything riske = ever - and I'm not sure if it is one of DS's file's that is not authorized for me - firefox - or my hacker is playing games with my computer again.....;

Hey Linda..I "might" know that answer.............Might, I say.

I think DS only allows JPG or GIF photos......so if your photo says something like PNG after it .......ya gotta change that.

Make your photo a JPG :):)

just renaming a file does not change the file TYPE:

picture.gif is a GIF FILE.
picture.jpg is a JPG FILE
picture.png is a PNG file.
picture.tif is a TIF file.

renaming picture.gif to picture.jpg does not change the file type .. it is still a GIF file .. and probably won't even open if you change the name.

You would have to load picture.gif into an editor and SAVE AS picture.jpg in order to change it to a .jpg picture file.

lars - you were right - I deleted all of my messages and it has improved the speed of opening my messages - thanks.

As to my photos - I think I'm just going to rescan my photos and save them in another format. Thanks for the help WV.
