I think YOUR group is designed for fun but bringing the content out in the open might offend someone otherwise.

I dont get it, you are the one who posted the topic why are you asking if this is wrong do you think it is wrong and asking for an opinion.

I think some might get offended I think alot of people with disabilities want to poke fun at themselves but it does not mean everyone feels this way and it can be hurtful to some and if that is the case it would be better to refrain from doing it you know the saying if it hurts only one person then it is one to many.

I think maybe business has been a little slow at the Laughter Club and he is just trying to drum up some business......and by posting sumptin like that he knows it might piss a few people off and they will storm over there and raise hell..........and then business is better............got ya a crowd, even if they are fighting instead of laughing............

Bear I think that you have a good point, and I was thinking along the same lines as I went there and wondered why this would be posted here asking opinions about it.

Humor is subjective. It is no more "wrong" to tell a joke featuring a disabled person than it is to feature someone of a certain religious faith or race.

If you don't find it funny, move on.

I know everyone always says if you dont like a topic or dont like the replys just to move on but somewhere deep in me if I see something that is in bad judgment I speak up and say it. I dont think anyone necessarily means harm when posting these kinds of jokes to them they are funny.

But I always think and especially in this case where they flat out asked for our opinion one what we think. I think maybe they do not know if is offensive to someone not to do harm but just to say heads up I would want someone to tell me.

I think you the poster was asking this because nobody replied to the post and was thinking Shessh was this bad, but I would ask the group who it effects because we are not a part of the group it really does not matter what we think in a sense.

Good point manny, it doesn't matter what we think if we aren't part of the group but it could be that it doesn't matter what everyone in that group thinks either. By that I mean, somebody is going to be outraged or not approve of a joke or a comment no matter what the circumstances.

It's easy to get outraged. And that outrage is not necessary something that needs to be acknowledged.

As a handicapped and disabled person, I, myself, wondered why this person wanted to post here on the community and I agree.

Being offensive towards others often shows a lack of personal self esteem. When you want to make everyone aware of a group which covers its true intent through the use of offensive statements to extend your personal pleasure, it can be considered as an attempt of cyberbullying.

This is a rather deceptive ad for the group, since the OP here is the OP of that thread of humor about handicapped people.

I watch Big Bang Theory, which often pokes fun at Christians, of which I am one. However, seeing as the show pokes fun at all religions, marriage, homosexuals, education, social values and pretty much everything else in the world, in context, the jokes are hilarious. It is a social commentary.

I am handicapped and did not find the jokes offensive. What I find offensive is someone coming here to promote his group and his thread using controversy. At least admit you wrote the thread, or was this supposed to be a joke on us??
