Symptoms check - Crohn's disease?
I haven't been diagnosed with Crohn's, but it's apparently a possibility with some symptoms I've been having. Can any of you in this group relate to the following?:
-Low ferritin/iron on several blood tests.
-weight loss
-Hair loss
-spells of constipation lasting days- up to 10 days with no bowel movement
-dark brown line on my upper lip/patches of dusky skin on forehead (melasma)
-persistent pain in lower-right abdomen (near cecal-iliac valve) that comes and goes, along with a tight sensation when stool moves through that area
-stool (and anal area) smell "off", with a constant "cheesy" odor (I'm lactose intolerant, so it's not from eating cheese!)
-muscle wasting
-low energy, fatigue
-for a while I was suffering night sweats & hot flashes, but those have subsided.
Things I have NOT experienced, for cross reference:
-never have blood in my stool
-colonoscopy came back "clean"
-I seem to do OK with moderate leafy greens (lettuce, spinach & chard), although cauliflower, raw kale & arugula (?!?) all "hurt me".
-haven't done an upper/small intestine scope, though...
-I've tried months gluten-free & it didn't help anything
-I'm very aware of my food sensitivities (lactose & nightshades), and avoid those religiously.
Please let me know if you're diagnosed with Crohn's & share any of these symptoms. I'm working w a gastroenterologist & trying to start in the right direction. How were you diagnosed, if you have a diagnosis?

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
