Stress & worry over family do seem to affect my breathing too (hell, what doesn't affect my lungs any more LOL).
I have anti-anxiety pills that I can take a few times a day, but often "forget" during the day as I don't want to feel tired.
However, the anti-anxiety meds not only calm me down & accept many family issues, but also help my breathing at those time.
Does your dr give you anything that might help get thru this time?
Lonely, is hard & it seems this summer seems to be harder than usual on me.
I have family living right down the road now, but they are all so busy that I rarely see any of them. Somehow, that seems to make me feel lonelier (when they lived far away it was easier to "understand" them not coming to see me)
Each year I get more "home bound". It's just a pain to haul everything by myself to go anywhere overnight or for a weekend, arrange pet sitters (also, money issues has cut my traveling & increased my worries)
I feel like my "big day" is just to go to dr, fill prescriptions & shop each month....no fun shopping with no money though.
Gosh, I started out just trying to explain that I understand & it sounds like i'm whining about my life. Didn't mean to sound that way, but I know there's a few of us ladies that live alone with out pets (happily) and as our dx progresses, it does create hardships & loneliness.
I hope you find your missing griggle, I'm looking for some of those good belly laughs that seem to lift my spirits & get those endorphins going :)
In the meantime, I wonder if that is how I look when I soak in my tub---just call me 'the blue hippo' LOL
Im speaking from the heart knowing exactly where that dark place is and still remains........
Take care Leonie......
hugs to all I am glad I am not alone in my misery

I really can't think of a recent time when I was lonely - don't have time for that as I have a dog to feed.
Pets range from the humongous to the itty-bitty - hippo to worm. If you do have a pet maybe they're missing you.
I soooo hope you're having a better today.
talk about "the odd couple" a collie & a beagle.
they love each other though & it's fun just watching them steal each others pillow. (I messed with the beagle & bought her the same size one as the collie----heh heh heh)
you should have seen a collie try to curl up in a tiny little ball to fit on the beagles pillow. :D
This year is the first year I have experienced serious exacerbations from COPD and it is no picnic. Yet, I will do everything in my power to prevent wallowing, if I can.
One son wants me to move to Wilmington to be near him but his life is so hectic that I think it will be as we have just heard and will make me feel lonelier. Also, I can drive in my sleepy town here and go anywhere without horrendous traffic.
One day at a time. Next week will be the 8th anniversary of my late husband's death from pancreatic cancer. That and the coming of fall and winter seem to always have this effect on me too. My "mind over matter" and sense of humor seem to be leaving me behind too often lately.
Glad to have this group where I can vent without feeling guilty.
(((((HUGS)))))))))
