The Aerobika* Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy System (Oscillating PEP) is designed to aid in the loosening and removal of mucus build-up in the lungs. Some illnesses such as COPD, cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis and bronchiectasis produce excess mucus that is difficult to cough out. how does oscillating pep work?
With the Aerobika* Oscillating PEP device, pulses of resistance are created using the exhaled breath. The resistance causes positive pressure to build up in the lungs helping to hold the airways open. The pressure gets behind the mucus, helping push it out of the smaller airways.
At the same time, the pulses (or oscillations) create vibrations within the airways helping to thin and shake loose mucus that may be too thick or sticky for the pressure alone to move. The combination of oscillations and pressure aids in moving mucus into the central airways, where it can be coughed out.

"Industrial sized" machine...I don't recall if it actually helped or not, I think they were still testing it. My Resp Therapist kept telling me "they say" or "its supposed to...". Being used to a reg normal neb treatment, I found this new way rather odd and annoying....But then again, when I am that sick....I whine and throw a tantrum, when treatment varies from the norm

I assume it is similar, though it calls itself a Vibratory PEP device, yours is an Oscillating PEP device - no clue how much difference there may be.
Over-all I would say it helps. The only complaint is they intend it to be used regularly - which means something like 5 reps of 5, 5x a day. Between that and my 7 nebulizer treatments, and 2 exercise routine - sure eats up a lot of time. So I must shamefully admit I'm not that regular.
There are several sites online that discuss their effectiveness - but in general they all are rather wishy-washy unless they are selling them.

I have used the Acapella for years, and wondering if the Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy System
would be better for me because I have been having even more problems this past year with mucus clearing.

I would probably have as much success with a toilet paper tube and a thin strip of plastic.
This contraption i do not recommend wasting your money or your breath on.
No luck with the acapella here either, cept really sore ribs.
Have your tried really HOT heat pads, as in the homemade wet dishtowel in a ziplock microwaved? They help me out.
The Lung Flute did not work for me. I don't have enough lung power to force the reeds to vibrate.

Any way, not to bore y'all with my old stories, but I taught my wife how to "cup" on my back, thus saving a lot of money! Not that there is anything wrong with buying a machine to do the same thing.
Did the Lung Flute company give your money back? They refunded me the full price and told me to keep the Lung Flute.
