I take mucinex, not the one that suppresses cough. The other one. Also sip hot green tea, keeps things loosened up. And lots of sleeping, the body needs to fight off that crap. God Bless!

Very strong hot tea of any sort. Hot steamy baths with Epsom salt and a bit of lavender oil.

Plenty of rest important but you need to move about some too.

Could you have allergies causing the excess mucus? I know getting tested and bringing my allergies under control has cut my mucus by over 50%.
Also I found relief using a long handled vibrating percussion back massager to help loosen it up.....but it always came right back.

Talking about excess mucous, has anyone had your nose full of mucous like having a bad runny nose yet you cannot blow it out but continually sniff like a kid without a hankie...

I know it may be settled on my lungs and did have the hard to remove bacterium called a pseudomonium that caused yellow green sputum but its cleared somewhat by 3 weeks of antibiotics..

Coughing it up is the best remedy but no matter what I try my nose remains with this runny feeling....

Redbird, My concern is the fact you are coughing up yellow mucus. That for me is always an indication that whatever bug is biting me still has a hold of me. You might get back with your doctor and tell him. what is going on. He may have to change your antibiotics. Something to consider. Take care, Bill

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am scheduled to take some allergy testing within the next two weeks. Mucus has now changed to light green and I can feel trickling down the back of my throat. Call in to my doc.... this started at the end of June and still very sick....will this ever stop.... was really just hoping for some sort of home remedy that would be the magical cure.
