hello all..
I am so new to this i have questions..
I just started my Igg treatments in Nov. I drive 2hrs to my dr's and have the iv done in the clinic. they give me a benadryle, prevacid and Tylenol cocktail before treatment to help with rejection( which knocks me out for a good 4hrs). I have a 4yr old ( in all day pre-k), and 5month old. it's hard to go all day for treatment. what is the difference between the sub q and iv treatments?? is there more benefits to one verses the other? "
right now my dose is 35.
Also should I be seeing an Immunologist? Right now I am seeing the Chief of the cancer center /hematology department. he is the one doing all my test and follow-up. I also have a gastrologist. But that is it besides my primary..

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? My daughter just switched from having her infusions in a hospital setting because she changed medications. Our insurance carrier paid $13,200 for a single infusion as a day patient at the hospital. They paid our home infusion company $3,400, about 75% less than the hospital. That is what the insurance company paid, not what the provider billed. That is a huge difference, particularly if you have a coinsurance.
But markincleveland you are right if i was to have a reaction I do have everything in my medicine cupboard.. I have stocked up on Benadryle.. This is such a learning experience..
I am so glad to hear your children have gone into the medical field.
besides having almost 2 associates degrees, I am also have my phlebotomy licence and I am an instructor through the Red Cross for adult/child CPR, AED and 1st Aid.. My goal was/is to become a RN.. I wasn't sure I could still go into the field with my dx. So I am excited to hear that your children are travelling the medical field path!!
I will definitely have to look into the insurance stuff. I only have one insurance and we are down to one income and unemployment at the moment so the cost factor will be a huge factor..
