Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...

I find it challenging to set boundaries. It's always been a challenge for me. As I grow in my life, I find that I grow out of relationships and stop reciprocating or pursuing them. And, I find that people don't seem willing to let me move forward and let them go to a large extent. But maybe this is an illlusion-if I'm capitulating then I play into the dynamic. I get "hoovered," I think that is the right term. I feel that some of the relationships are being forced by them.
Examples of this are what I call 'prompts,' when I back off or remain silent for a while, I get these suggestions or questions, like "So I have a book for you when you come over." (but I have no plans to come over) Or, "I see that you called," when I never did. But, I don't have plans to come over, nor pick up a book. I view these as manipulations because I don't get these 'prompts' when I am actively engaging with the person. I only get the prompts when I am more distant.
I am kind of like a rubberband, I'll bounce back if and when I'm ready. But, if the other person keeps pulling on the rubberband, stretching and straining it and overly tightening it, it will snap. The block function on my social media and phone has become really useful for me. I attract crazies and stalkers like you wouldn't believe. But, I think that also is a codependent thing.
And I've been about to snap. Good thing I had a meeting with my therapist. I'm gonna need a lot of help to set and maintain these boundaries because people are bashing them right in. And I'm getting freaking pissed.

I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain. Just scroll on by my posts, if they are too...

Has anyone heard from Jenn, she had an adult son with aspergers, Eric, they lived a long time with her grandmother, then they moved into an apartment. She had a funny little picture if I recall of a short dark haird woman as part of her name in a red dress. There are so many people who have dropped away from this room...I wonder where they are, and miss them. Wishing that DS could become what it...

Our actions 'teach' others how far they can push us...
Our actions or in-action creates within us our own self image.
People don't want to get dumped.
Your Truth, they no longer serve a purpose in your life.
Create Boundaries of what you will and will not accept from your friends, and use kind with words. There will be less hurt feelings.
Until then nothing will change, they are your emotional vampires. I suggest Alanon to help you get through with support from others where you are now. I've been in a similar place as your 'friends' in not wanting to loose a 30year friendship....back and forth for nearly a year....finally I just accepted that the problem/issues were something my friend needed to work out for herself....I just said OK And haven't seen or heard from her since...and that's ok....I Sincerely Wish Her Well...still love her dearly as a friend and if she were ever in need I'd be right there to help her....she's in my heart.....That Doesn't Mean I Would Go Back To Being A Friend on a continuing basis....I would respect what she wants.
When you just back off your friends don't read your mind....and may or may not know how you feel.
