Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
TENS did not help me, but I have muscle, joint and bone pain.
I hope you get your unit fixed. (That sounded weird, lol.)
Be well my friend
Oh and question, I thought it wasn't safe to use it more than an hour a day?
I am sorry you are having this problem and agree that there is something wrong with either your leads or your unit. You should not be leaving burn marks. I would let you PMD know about this ASAP or you can call your rep and see what they say about it.
I wish you lots of luck!
Those do look like burns to me, which seems to me might be caused by too hot of a signal getting through those electrodes for too long.
I would either call WC and tell them that you are having difficulty with the brand and try some other, better quality pads, or get a new unit.
Someone said that you are supposed to use a TENS unit one hour on and then off for a few and she is right. I was told the same thing. The premise being that you should stimulate the nerves enough that it numbs the pain for a few hours. Then when it wears off , you can use it again.
Best of luck to you,
Sandi
