Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
This group and these people changed my life. Hang in there and be patient.
David.
Feel free to msg me too.
Take care.
And NEVER GIVE UP! There IS hope!
Please give us a chance. We are friendly. We live it everyday.
When you are ready share what you feel comfortable sharing.
Praying for you
Sunny
I hurt so much today...rain is making it worse. Stress and anxiety do a number on me and I've had to smile through some situations that almost killed me recently.
I have children too. Two of them. An 8 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. Yesterday, my kids were competing in a science olympiad tournament. It's the cumulation of the year's studying of anatomy, weather, physics, and bridge building. I have done nothing but sleep since I got home yesterday at dinner time. My parents took us out to eat immediately after the awards, and I fell asleep at the table. More than once, I fell asleep at the awards. I cried in pain more than once there. Trying to walk up to take a photograph of the moment, and then realizing I keep missing it because I am too slow, too hurting, too chubby, and too unstable to walk fast enough. Crying about that.
Just that ONE event will probably keep me in my recliner (which is my bed , where I sleep) for a week. My whole body hurts. My pain is off the charts today from what I had to do yesterday. I'm still fighting for disability, I was denied last time. I haven't been back to the laywer to start a new file. It's been six months, and right now, I just don't care. Yet I have two kids depending on me. I'm so sick of lawyers, the system, and of everyone thinking I'm just lazy when they know nothing about me. My doctors want me on disability. I know I'm not a malingerer, and whatever other deragatory term used. I'm depressed all the time, my body is just falling apart, and my kids are suffering from it. They don't have a father who can help. He went off to make a new family after I divorced him, and now his kids are left out in the cold. It is overwhelming. SInce I had cancer a few years ago, I have never bounced back. My health is terrible.
SO, I know what you're going through to some degree. Please reach out for help. I should be listening to my own advice, I know. I know it's hard. I know it's hard to find a good doctor, good therapists, etc. Believe me, most here do. It sucks, to be honest.
This group has an amazing bunch. They understand, they listen, they rally behind you when you need it most.
What is your pain from, if I may ask? Do you have a good doctor that is helping you? Are you on any pain meds? Do you have any non-medication pain relief treatments, such as heat/ice, massage, PT/OT, gentle exercise, water therapy, stretching, etc? It can be hard to find the right combination of what works, and things can change over time.
Please tell us more about yourself, and you will find a lot of help here. We can maybe give you some ideas, help you look, help you find some help. If you ever need someone to listen, feel free to PM me or post here. This is a great group, and we are here for you.
I am so sorry that you are in such pain and isolation, you have done the best thing possible in joining this wonderful group of people. Please, please, don't consider giving up, you are not alone, we are here to support each other, I have been a member for about 5 weeks and it has made the world of difference to my life. Have you thought about writing down your story and sharing it, sometimes that helps. Please take good care of yourself,
Blessings,
Mary - Emgland
My difficulties started at an early age and the many traumas in my life have stayed within. I've been told that my pain is the result. My work is so painful and I wake every day wondering how I'm going to make it. I've had to limit my hours so it's become a bit of a finanacial struggle, too. More stress.
I'm on loads of meds and they aren't working. I've tried all the alternative treatments available in this area...no luck.
I'm afraid my depression is getting the best of me.
My parents help me, but that only makes me feel more pathetic.
Worry and stress make fibro and myofascial pain worse. It makes all pain worse so coming here and talking will help you. Please give us a chance to give you support. You can get better. I just recently have gotten a break in how my pain is responding after many years of no change.
Know that God has a plan for your life.
I feel like such a burden to my family. I have three grown sons and they seem to have given up on me. I'm sure I'm a disappointment.
I've struggled with anorexia all my life (thanks, Mom) and even at my age, it's a problem.
Many are here when you need us. Usually always someone here. All who love and support one another. Please know we care and are here for you.
Sending you warm gentle hugs.
It's been raining for two days and it's supposed to continue until next Sunday. It's making me hurt terribly so I'm heading to bed soon.
Thanks to all of you! I have hope, now.
you need: "I can make it through everything! Anytime, and I mean ANYTIME, you need help, come here and there will be somebody to help you! Hang in there, friend. We have all been there!
