Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I am out of work due to my neck pain and don't know what to do from here. Just trying to take it one day at a time.
You can too. that alone feeling is pretty rough, but this site daily strength, has many support groups.
Meditate, just breathe and hang in there.
I am also new to this site. Hang in there. thank God for computers!!
First of all, welcome! Second, why are you giving your stuff to the kids? I don't think that; that is not necessary, unless you are moving to Fiji, and planning in never come back to the State's, if that is the case, TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!
Hun, ALL of us here are in pain, and all of us go through our ups, downs and sideways, but giving up is NOT an option! Do you have a pain management Doctor taking care of your pain? If you don't, you need to find one. Second, make sure to try all of the therapies out there; accupunture, bio-feedback, yoga, pilates, massage, etc. Not everyone can do all of these therapies, but if one of them give you relief, half of the bottle is won.
Create a journal, some people call it the "pain journal", but I call it the accomplishment journal. In this journal you can write what trigger your pain that specific day, and also add the accomplishments of that day, ie: I got up today in a 7 pain, took my meds at 9 AM, and that brought me down to 4. Today I was able to clean the bathroom, cook and do some walking, life is good". See when you add a positive thing that happened to you in any given day, life starts looking better and better, and your complete attitude will change.
I live alone with my mutt Malcolme, and I can assure you that life is hard, specially when I am in pain, but I am done with the "why me?", I have taken this pain, and all of the issues that I have, as a challenge, and I want to win, so what I am trying to tell you is, there is life with pain, don't feel like you have to be in a mumu in bed every single day, life is good, and you should enjoy it as much as you can.
Take care and I am glad and happy to have you here.
Tipper
I wish I had something profound to say but just know this is a great place for support with a lot of great people that are here for you and who understand. Including me. :)
Hugs
Kallie
You are at the right place and most definitely at the right time. As with Kallie I have nothing profound to add but in reading all your responses I'm feeling the love and power of this awesome group. Hang with us and we will all get thru these ugly rainy painful times.
Terry
I have, like everyone else a lot of pain. For me, God is using it to change me into his image. I know that many people think that a relationship with Christ is supposed to make life perfect, but I think that is not at all what the Bible says. instead, God has given me a joy and a peace. He has taken me on a healing journey in my heart and soul, and even restored some, though not all of my body.
I want to encourage you that we are here for you. I am so glad you shared the trials you are going through. I am sure there is a lot more going on. Anyway, big hugs and good to know you.
So glad you are here Cherrych.
I remember the first 3 supports I found after a couple of years on unrelenting pain and stress because of the medical community's, my family, and friends response to my new disease of pain on top of the ones that caused it.
What a title wave of emotion I experienced.
This is a wonder full, heavenly place of support, love, acceptance, information, etc. etc., and all because of one persons love for another who was suffering. The reason D.S. is here is from love, God, & and a person who believed they could make a difference in the life of their loved one and many more. They persisted and we have this place to come to for very specific and important needs.
I am so full of gratitude for D.S. and all the support I have found here and it has also filled another important need.
The need to give, & feel useful in the form of the ability to help others with our experience, strength, and hope.
Keep your self wrapped in the arms of God( whatever your belief is), and all of us here who care. Come be with us when you are able. It will help.
In Love Light Truth & Service

I take Sunday and Monday off to give my body a much needed break, though it never seems to be enough.
I think all the support you wonderful people are offering is a beautiful thing. It makes me feel like maybe I'm not alone.
Best wishes,
David.
It is so comforting to know I'm not alone. The immediate people in my life don't have a clue...
How long have you been in pain and do you know what it is from?
Mine was a car accident and I understand having to adapt one day it seemed my life has changed and that sounds dramatic and to me it was.
I dont let the pain win I know sounds cheesy but I have to keep moving keep on trying to figure out what works to be productive and happy
