I have been taking Lyrica for almost a year now. It was prescribed to treat the sciatica in my right leg. In the beginning I took only 100mg per day and frankly did not see any huge improvement. This past June, the dosage was increased gradually up to 600mg which I am told, is the max. At this level, I do get some relief. It is difficult to say exactly how much because my pain varies from day to day depending on my level of activity. I also take it with morphine. On the whole, I do find that Lyrica has helped me and, luckily, I dont have any side effects. Only downside is the cost!

My experience with Lyrica was a short one. I tried the Lyrica after we determined that the Neurontin was not working. I saw no relief at all with the Lyrica. And my insurance company gave me a fight in getting benefits for this medication. So my pain specialist put me on Nortriptyline instead.

lyrica and neurontin both have helped me, but doc likes lyrica better, so i have been on it for almost a year...my pain is more bearable with than without, but still very present.

Did lyrica. Neurontin works best for me as well.

I take it but I can\'t tell that I\'ve taken it. It does seem to give me a all is well feeling. But it doesn\'t help the pain

Lyrica helped me for about 2wks..I thought this was my wonder med..but my pain broke through and my vision became blurred plus I gained 8pounds that I can\'t seem to get rid of....

I gave this med too much of my time and money. I gained 20pds and never had a hard time losing weight before. This med scares me.

Lyrica has helped decrease the intensity of my pain. I was slowly increased up to 200 mg three times per day. My pain doc has told me that is the max too. On the down side I have gained weight since I was put on it.

Look, I gain weight on Prednisone, then on the neurotonin...4800mg a day...so the chance at 150mg three times a day of lyrica I jumped on. especially with the V.A. non phamulary drugs are hard to get. I will admit I still have pain, but if I skip a dose I sure feel it. Too in the am I am a mess untill that morning dose of everything kicks in. My pain has been helped with the codene 3 x day...14.5 not much but it is something. I am hoping they will (Friday) give me a long acting med that will help, but I doubt it.

The V.A., might prescribe methadone, if they won't because it costs money offer to pay for it out of pocket. A months supply is like 25 bucks if that much.

I gained forty pounds on Lyrica, I gave it up and had my Cymbalta upped, much better.

Well,,, Lyrica was terrible for me, felt drunk, slurred my words, this strange need to always be doing something, worsening of depression and anxiety. Not pretty- for me

I have been taking Lyrica for 2 years now for sciatica. It has helped alot and makes the pain more bearable. I am up to 150 mg twice daily but I think I'll need another increase next month when I see my pm doc. I'm getting more of the shooting pains down my legs. Sorry to hear that so many had bad experiences with Lyrica, for me it was a wonder drug.

I've been on it for a few yrs and it has worked amazing for me . The. Eginning for about a week I had a hard time adjusting to it. Felt out of it . I guess that's what they mean about the part in the pamphlet "The Feeling Of High "

The doctor has tried to raise my dose a few times but my body can't handle anything higher. For me it's been a Miracle Drug.

I forgot to add that I didn't gain any weigh . I'm in my 50's and I'm 5'8 and weigh 110 -114. People I talk with though say that has been one of their biggest complaints is weight gain. The reason for posting this is so if others here are thinking of this med and affraid of weight gain I just wanted them to know not everyone gains on this med.
