Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I have chronic nerve pain as a result of Guillain Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune illness, diagnosed in December 2010.
Over the next week or so, I hope to figure out how to upload a picture, and so on. In the meantime, I just wanted to say hello to all. I look forward to being a part of this thread.

I'm so glad to see everyone keeping this thread alive. I am on my way out the door, into 6 degree weather, to go see my shrink. He can't fix the pain I'm struggling with, but I need that weekly check in for the sake of my sanity!
Hugs and joy...
Feeling better, think I have recovered. Good to see you all here. Have a good day! Sending hugs, love, and comfort,
Tonna
Hugs to you all, buddies, as you go through your day.
Tomorrow I see this chiropractor who holds promise for helping migraines. 3 month wait to see him and initial consultation is 1 1/2 hours and if he thinks he can help me I see him in thursday for the treatment. My doctor says he has been performing near miracles. Today I have a killer in my head and I'm sending out prayers for myself.
Love you all.

I just got back from the city where I went for a couple of appointments (naturopathic doc and chiropractor) as well as a visit with my family and a funeral and it was all too much. I am in a lot of pain now. Too much walking and moving from place to place. I just find it hard to be part of the real world. I can't keep up.
I need more down time and the added pressure of holding myself up emotionally and the frustration I feel because they do not know how hard it is for me, it all adds up.
So I'm glad to be home and connecting with people who do know how hard it is to be in the world as a CPer.
All my love to you, reading this post, and my gratitude for being here.
Hugs to everyone,
Ama
