Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

You made me laugh out loud before the sun is up !!!
"I just come here dor the cake"...hahaha
ooh..ya know what's good ?
shortcake and strawnerries with strawberry/banana yogurt...!!!!
I also love and need to come here for support (give and take)... we can talk here about all of our aches and pains and I don't burden my family as much with it. Hugs to all today!!

Good morning.
HOW TRUE that is about burdening the family less because we have this site !
I've caught myself whining quite a bit more to my husband again lately..
you just made me reqlize that's probably becquse od my internet connection problems.!
huhs
Hippy...yes...we love Texas sheet cake. We make it when we have to bring a dessert somewhere. Mainly because if we have it here....well...I might just eat the whole cake....by myself!!
JC...I sometimes do feel I take more than I give here. Honestly sometimes I am skimming through posts and think I will respond when I get some extra time....which I don't seem to have enough of these days.
It does help me feel better knowing I can come here to friends that understand the way life is for us. CP can be very isolating.

Cake sounds delicious- yesterday I had a cannoli. It's great to be a grown-up!
I actually slept until 7:30am this morning. Quite a feat for me lately. Didn't even have to get up to pee in the middle of the night.
But I'm still a bit sleepy and a nap is on the agenda for this morning.
I made chicken soup last night for dinner and it was probably the best chicken soup I've ever made. For once, I didn't make alot for leftovers.Bummer! It was a bit green tiinged (because of the parsley, tarragon and broccoli in it), but it was so good.
JC, I agree- it feels good to help others. It's an added benefit to this group. And I believe your depression is definitely helped along because of your internet problems. When I was without the internet for 3 days last week, I thought I'd go insane. You don't realize how important it is in your life until you don't have it!
Hoping everyone has a good day! It's positively gorgeous here in NJ this morning- sunny, blue skies and a nip in the air. We need some weather like this. There are still so many people who are living in temporary shelters or still don't have electricity.I read an article yesterday that the state put up huge tents and people were given a cot, a plastic pillow and one blanket. Meanwhile, there was no heat in them for 3 days. And you need to present an ID just to go to the porta-potties. One woman said it was just like a concentration camp. No TV, no internet, radios or newspapers. And of course, if they have cell phones, they're dead by now.
I think the state and FEMA really dropped the ball on this one. There are so many hotel rooms right in AC alone that could be used for the people who lost their homes. But of course, money trumps humanity in this situation. Why do something nice when you can make room for another random gambler? It makes no sense to me......
Sorry for rambling. It's just been on my mind since I read about it. Please keep these folks in your prayers!
Sandy
JC you remind me of Bill Cosby giving the kids Chocolate cake for breakfast. Said it was very healthy, it has milk, eggs, etc
So since cake is a health food I will take some chocolate cake :)
Yes to your question. And yes it does take the burden off the family who may not understand, or are tired of hearing it or are in complete denial.
Oh Sandy, home made chicken soup sounds so good. Yum!
Wishing all a low pain day. Hugs-RJ
i'm rather late today. jc, i agree about the usefulness of this site in my life in both directions. i don't have much in my life where i feel like i can give, so supporting others here means a lot.
my mother is going to pick me up to visit my father today. that will take all the energy i have, so the mess here will wait again. i could use another sofa day.
wishing all the best day possible!
Good morning Jan!
And yes. Although it's not my intention, when I give of myself to others, I gain so much in return.
Sandy, now that the election's over, I guess the attention, geared to helping the poor people who have lost their homes, has shifted.
I hope everybody has a great Sunday!
Jan, cake is awesome. Don't tell my kids I'm having it for breakfast. I'll take a piece loaded with a flower please. Not too big a piece though.
I try to give myself on here but I'm not sure that my meaning is understood. I also get alot by reading posts and having breakfast with you all.
I hope everyone has a great day and that you all are pain free or at least have low pain. Thanks for the cake. Yummy!!!
Laura
I think the love and compassion in this group is that way.
Jan, my answer is yes to your question.
Thanks.
