I look at the top ten tratments but don't see my treatment. I am taking 4200 mg of Gabapentin, 140mg of Oxycontin "DAILY" and 125 mg Fentinyle patch every two days. It has been more than 4 years and doctor after doctor have said nothing else can be done. The pain and weakness are terrible and I wake knowing my first chore is to convince myself it is worth it to get up and start my day. I feel so badly for my family they are so supportive but life has changed and they have lost alot I cannot do much but I try. Oh well!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). There are things like other meds, up to and including an intrathecal pump to deliver meds directly into your spinal fluid (last resort if nothing else works)
See, here on this site, and on other support sites it depends on who is here and what they are on as to what the "top treatments" show up as. Does that make sense?
I mean, I started out on Darvocet, then Vicodin/Norco (hydrocodone), then to Oxycontin, then to Duragesic (fentanyl),
then to Morphine (extended release), then...on and on.
Right now, because I have been out of work for 2 full years almost due to cancer, and lupus, and all kinds of OTHER medical issues on top of the chronic back pain, and because of the fact that I am dirt broke, I am on methadone. I also take instant-release morphine for break-through pain. So, in effect, I have been on almost EVERY opiate there is out there. I have had this severe pain for four years as well. I don't know HOW I injured my back, but it is attributed back to an initial injury I had when I first became a nurse and I hurt my back severely by trying to hold a very obese person up. I was new nurse, and I tried to prevent a post-op patient from falling and RE-fracturing her hip. I broke her fall, but I've never been the same.
So, I can understand that you feel frustrated, that you've searched, and you don't see your treatments anywhere. However, you sound like you have severe pain and obviously have needed to increase your doses of medications to the levels they are at now. It also sounds like you have some serious sciatica or neuropathy to be on a high Neurontin dose like that. But our site tracks the most common painkillers by member usage and input, etc. Vicodin (hydrocodone), is a VERY popular drug, and is probably up at the top only because most everyone starts out on it. I hope i am making sense here, I am trying to explain with a very bad migraine fogging my brain, lol.
