Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
it sounds like you too have a great family suport base but i also know that there is only so much they can do for you.
personaly i have gone through the stage of feeling blue and frustrated with all the things i cant do any more and now i only concentrate on things that i can do and things like learnig how computers work and being able to now build one, repair one, and use one to do a heap of things i didnt even imagin a computer could do.
without my accident there is no way i would have had all this time on my hands to be able to learn what i have about computers.
thats just one small example of concentrating on the positives and forgetting about the negatives.
If you do manage to do what i do i think you will feel that much better about yourself and will find that even though the pain level is still there that you can deal with it a whole lot better.
wishing you all the best :)
Thanks All

I put in my prescription today (I take 1500mg daily) and the pharmacist came over and questioned how much I am taking, I told him that my doctor seemed ok with what I am taking. I remindedhim about the listed max daily dose. He told me 'yes but that's still a very large dose' I replied 'well, it's very large pain!'
I also take Tramadol when my pain is particularly bad but I try not to use it too often for fear of it losing it's efficacy!
The Gabapentin, works reasonably well for the neuropathic pain that I have
