Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

it is common to get ecoli after a bladder infection. i had one and it took six months to clear up. Plus ecloi will make you sick you get stomach pain and bowel pain. You will have to be put on a very stong antibodic, i would be surprised if they do not keep you in hospital on a out patient basis to get your antibiotics. You will also have to get tested every three months for the next two years because ecoli live in your lining of the bowel and travel through out the body. Please take what ever meds they give you. As for your stomach your are young lets hope your stomach will heal. Have you tried drinking aloe vera gel or aloe vera juice it heals ulcers and stomach issues from the inside of your body out. The other thing I imagine they told you is you will have to take digestive enzymes for awhile with your antibiotics for the ecloi. i will pray for you. Please do not worry about your lver too much if the cyst is on the outside of your liver it could be a fatty cyst, did they biopsy it. If it were on the inside I can tell you that the liver is the only organ in the body that will rebuild itself complete 1/3 of it's size in a year. I will pray for you if you have any questions please do not hestitate to ask and I will try to help you. isabee
I am glad they figured out what is wrong and are getting you turned around. Sending loads of love and hugs over your way and a healing prayer that you will get well soon!! ((((((((((( ))))))))))))))))))
it is too bad you are so young to have all these health problems, but do not worry a stress test does not hurt . All you do is walk on a tread mill at different rates of incline. Take care. Do you have your journal so you can do that. i sugeest to pass the time if you are allowed to walk arround the hospital. check it out, see how many floors there are and home many different areas. Is it big or a small county hospital. I do not know where you live so I am interested. Take care try to rest. do you get free tv in your room or do you have to pay for it. In canada it is 20 dollars per day for phone and tv, they really squeeze the sick people. it's insane that should be a free service to try and keep patients calm. Take care love and prayers isabee
So if you had it before, you've always had it, it's not new.
He then had a g-tube inserted at 2 hours of age. He is now 33 years old and has had over 200 surgeries for the treatment of his cystic hygroma/lymphangmengioma. He was treated with vancomycin and another drug in the early '80's. He did develop and allergic reaction but needs the vanco for other conditions so treat him with IV Benadryl first.
He has only had one other active case of MRSA. He also had become colonized and then treated. The CDC told us when we lived in GA that if it continues to become a problem for reinfection to examine the reason as it can become permanently cured. No one else in the family either became active or colonized and we did have another baby we also adopted with a trach.
He is not colonized at this moment in time as he just had his physical due to his volunteering at camps for the medically fragile down south.
Hope this helps with the confusion.

They may even have some ideas about natural ways to keep it at bay.
The antibiotics are NOT absorbed well in the stomach. They need to be IV (well last I looked - which is why the MRSA group might know more) and that is why you have to stay in hospital.
Plus, there is danger of spreading it to others in the public creating a serious outbreak. So rest in your room and don't wander around the hospital just in case it is infectious. People with cystic fibrosis are very at risk from it. I know you don't want to infect anyone else who could die. Your too sweet for that.
Plus, rest is usually best when fighting infections.
When I had pneumonia in Kindergarten, we had no antibiotics. Rest was all we had. I got over it by just letting my immune system fight it out on its own.
that was back when doctors made house calls!
but thank goodness they have discoved what is wrong and they are treating it. now you are going to get better, the pain you are in will go away, and you will leave the hospital a million times better and get to be in your own home.
in the meantime, i am really concerned about how much pain you are in. you should not have to be suffering like this. i think it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor (and dont be afraid to stand up for yourself- sometimes we have to be our own advocates) and tell him/her that you are in horrible pain and you are not receiving adequate pain relief. tell the dr how badly it hurts- be really specific about exactly how it feels and how it is affecting you, and also say that on the scale of 0-10 you are at a 10.
tell the dr flat out that you need stronger pain medication and you need it more frequently. i really think they should give you a pain pump- that way you wont be in pain like this and you also wont have to ask for meds every time the pain gets bad; you will be controlling your pain yourself, and when it starts to hurt you can just push the button and it will automatically put the medication into you.
i wish there was more i could do from here to help... know that i am with you and i care about you very much. and keep reminding yourself that this will not last forever- even if you have to keep repeating to yourself "this is temporary. the pain will go away. this is temporary. the pain will go away.", do it- of course i cant say for sure if that will help you, but i have done that in the past and it has really helped me. keep writing to us, both to vent and get support and to update us on how you are, and let us know if there is anything we can do. my heart goes out to you, and i am sending you all my love and support and praying for you.
