Thank you all so much I am going to rest that's the best thing for me to do and I am glad that they finally know what's causing my pain I just wish that they could make it go away I just hope that my stomach heals and that I get all of these infections dealt with. I am a strong person I will get through this

Hello everyone I found out today that One of my former classmates drowned Her name was Paige Neblett she was just 23 years old I am having a hard time tonight I just cant stop thinking about it. along with everything else that has happened to me the last few days.

IF you're in the hospital and you have MRSA you're automatically put in ICU under infectious disease control because of the risk of spreading and contamination and the fact that once a person gets MRSA it cannot be cured only maintained when it flares up by certain very strong antibiotics only 2 of which can be taken orally. MRSA is one of the few bacteria that can live on a surface outside of a living organism for up to 2 months.....they don't just leave you in a regular room and let you stroll around the hospital.

I've had MRSA for 4 years, I have regular flares each month that require E.R. visits for I.V. antibiotics. Just for those E.R. visits I'm put in a private trauma room with infectious disease signs/tape all over the outside of it. You can't come in that room without sterile gloves/gown, because it's spread by touch and body fluids.

This once again is OUR experience with MRSA since 1979 and working with the CDC. Our son is immunosuppressed and it does amaze them ( their words ) on his remaining free.

It can and has been cured. The CDC in Atlanta does our son's testing as he lives in Florida but was originally cleared here in Oregon. They would not be letting him go every year and volunteering for medically at risk children if he was not cured.

In our hospitals someone with MRSA is put into a private room and the glove/gown/masks protocol is in place.

I am sorry for those that have not had this experience.

We were told by the CDC if flare ups recurred treatment needs to be changed and/or used for a longer period of time.

it takes about 3-5 days for all your meds to work if you are taking pills. I imagine you are getting antibiotics through IV if you have 5 infections all at once. I am surprised you have not said you are quarantined. because when your in hospital that is what they do to MRSA patients. Are your sure they said you positively have MRSA or there is a positive possibility. I would be very concerned if you had e coli and MRSA at the same time.
I am not saying it is impossible but it is very rare to get 5 infections at once with MRSA. Your whole immune system must be totally diminished. What antibiotics are they giving you tabby.? For in all my years nursing I have never heard of that many infections and you still being able to walk, talk, and eat. I am shocked that you are not in a special, infectious disease area. When I got e coli after a bladder infection I was quarantined. Are you sure you understood what the doctor told you. I hope that you miss understood. because if not it is very serious problem and I would be very concerned. Please let me know what you are taking , when you speak to the nursing staff or your doctors, and what are they planning to do for you. .take care isabee

They put me in a room and told me that I cant have visitors. due to the infections I am not allowed to get up and walk around. the hospital I stay in my room at all times they are giving me pain medine through an iv as well as medine The nurse told me that sometimes the pill antibiotics don't get rid of the infections so that's why their giving me the IV I don't know what causes me to get UTI infections but I get them a lot and then when they said I have more than one infection I was like OMG I just don't understand why I keep getting these infections I told my nurse I want to go home to get well but they said no I have to stay because MRSA is very dangerous so I don't know hen I will get to go home I am just so tired of all of this I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed I hate the hospital

No one deserves tobe by themself and in pain. I remember when I was hospityalized a friend brought me care packages. Of books and nibblys and games to play by yourself. I pray they get it under control soon, so that you can go home and sleep in your own bed. isabee

I am just wondering if they are giving you vanco mycin which is a antibiotic used to treat e coli , what else are they giving you. Are you by chance getting Batrim for the e coli and vancomycin for the MRSA are they also giving you the iv meds quinolones , they are one of the strongest staphyiloccous bacteria medications. I do hope that you do not have many boils or blisters for they are very painful part of MRSA. I also know of a medication they use on your skin to treat the blisters so that they do not spread. i truly hope they get all your infections under control. That is not easy. It is an extremely painful illness , for those who do not know. the medication burns through out the veins when it is administered. I feel for tabby and she will need our prayers. isabee
