Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Meanwhile, welcome and don't worry, we're all (almost all) chronic pain patients and I think it's a pretty good group. Hang in there!
Welcome to the group and if I can help, let me know.
David.
I am so so sorry you are hurting so badly. I am glad you found us. Hang in there til November. I remember waiting 8 months to see a doctor and yeah, it is no fun. I don't any doctor who knows you have waited this long will do anything but help you. Praying for this.
You're in the right place and I'm so glad you found us!
I don't know much about the Canadian Health Care system but there are Canadians on here as well.
Hang in there. Love your little pooch!! Our fur-babies understand, don't they?

I take Topamax 300mg, Cymbalta, a muscle relaxer, Trazodone for sleep, and I receive BOTOX injections, and Trigger point injections. And, sometimes I take Maxalt.
But, the best thing I ever did was stop working. My migraines went from 20 severe migraines a month to 3-5 mild/moderate a month.
I have a Pain Management Doctor and an Internist Doctor, I fired all my Neurologist Doctors. They were always changing my medicine and dosages, and they thought they were GOD.
You really need to find a Pain Management Doctor (but, I don't know how it works in Canada). I was referred by my Internal Medicine Doctor.
Good Luck to you, and never stop advocating for yourself!
I couldn't tell you how to find a good Doctor in Canada since I live in the US, maybe some of our Canadian members can help you with that. I am sorry that you are having issues with your migraines, and that you have to wait until November to see a specialist, but hopefuly you can get help in the mean time.
Have they done a set of allergy tests on you? My sister suffer from migraines, but she gets them if certain condiments are use in the food that she eats. When she goes to restaurants, she needs to make sure to bring her list of triggers, so that way she won't get a migraine, so that might be a test that you want to get it done before you go to the migraine Doc. I am glad that you find us and hope to see you around.
Take Care,
Tipper

If I were you I'd do some research first, find out where the pain clinics are and then call your doctor. Speak to the nurse or receptionist, they tend to be 'kinder' I find, and request a referral to the pain clinic of your choice. Your taxes pay these people, you deserve proper care, insist on it. Best of luck and I hope you find some relief soon.
