Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Hi. I am a 38 year old mother and grandmother. I suffer from chronic pain associated with various forms of arthritis, muscle spasms, and the wear and tear that comes from having four children. I hurt every day. Whether it's my knees or back or the carpal tunnel and cramps in my wrists and hands. I have muscle spasms in neck and shoulders. I can't sit down for too long because my bones will "lock" up and ache. I can't spend too much time on my feet, because my muscles will swell and hurt.
My screen name is actually both my actual nick name and a crazy little joke. The "Nia" is a part of my middle name pronounced "Nay". The berry part is actually in reference to Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show. I come from a small country town.
It's nice to be among people who know how I feel, and I look forward to getting to know the group.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

I grew up in a small town and now live in an even smaller town that's a lot like Mayberry too. I was actually surprised when I looked up the population of our town and it's under 1000 people. I honestly thought it was bigger.
We just moved here a year and `1/2 ago and am still trying to meet folks. My husband's niece lives a few blocks away so that's nice- she's pretty dependable in an emergency.
You sound just exhausted- and I saw you have grandkids- it's so hard to keep up with little ones when you're in pain. I raised my son with pain since his birth and I know how hard that is.
I'm so glad you found us, but also sorry you had too. But you'll find so many compassionate people here. I hope you stay around and we can help you through all of this.

I live in the Poconos. It really is still a small town behind the glitz.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
I nearly died from miss-diagnosed with Fibro when I really was starving to death from Celiac. All that time while I was starving, I was exercising harder and harder every day as doctors told me I was not getting better because I was "non-compliant" with the exercise program they set out for me.
Finally, after 40+ years, one doctor looked at me, sent me to a neurologist who actually apologized to me for the medical profession doing this to me and allowing me to get so sick. Then my PCP called to tell me to dial 911 to get to the hospital where they expected me to die overnight.
I have pain everywhere. The list of what does NOT hurt is shorter nothing! Every nerve, muscle, bone, tendon, ligament, organ, is damaged from being abused while starving for food.
You have found a great group.
We have a great group of people here and you will fit right in our Mayberry town!
Welcoming hugs,
Toni
