Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

My stress levels are insane lately - which makes me hurt worse. To that add activities that have a time limit on them, and I suddenly have more stuff than I can reasonably do in a day that I have to do, so my pain and stress is worse the next day. Worse than that, I have no chance to take a break. I have been working on this degree for 5 years and am down to the last three weeks - I have two 50+ page papers, one is at a rough draft stage - the other I have the research done, but not even started writing yet. Plus two smaller papers, two take home essay final exams, and three field trips and two Power Point presentations.
Just to add insult to injury, as the seamstress for a friend's wedding, I took my sewing machine with me to another friend's house as she was going to help me get finished, but somehow the foot of my sewing machine got lost - now I have to buy I new one so I can finish the last dress.
Then, the day after my last final, I go in for my second apt with the Pain Management clinic... I hate doctors...
I had trouble getting to sleep last night and woke six hours later because I just hurt too much. It feels like someone is driving a chisel into my spine. Timed to my fast pulse the hammer slams into the chisel, shooting sharp pain up and down my spine until I want to scream... but the muscles in my back have convulsed to the point that I can't expand my rib cage to catch my breath. When I do take a breath, it feels like the fighting muscles are snapping the ribs - which has happened several times since I crushed part of my spine.
I took 10mg of hydrocodone w/Tylenol and 10mg of cyclobenzaprine an hour ago and it dulled the pain for about 15 minutes, but it is back at full strength again.
The pain is making my hands shake, soon my whole body will be in convulsions, making breathing that much harder... All my dog can do for me is to rest her giant head in my lap. I wish she was farther along in her training so I could send her to go wake up hubby.
I cant even take an extra dose of hydrocodone - I finished my tea and the pills are too hard to swallow dry.
I must not fear pain.
Pain is the mind-killer.
Pain is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my pain.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the pain has gone there will be nothing....only I will remain

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

GOod thing for the internet and hopefully you have a computer printer to make your papers easier to write and print off...oh please don't tell me they have to be written out?
I have found that all anyone can do is do one or at the most-two things at once! Anymore than that-and nothing gets done...
Your friend didn't find the foot petal at her house? Perhaps it got left in a car? Do you know anyone who could help you by finishing the sewing for you at the moment?
So tackle one school paper and don't think about the others..it will make the paper go by faster too!
Annettear had a good suggestion, can you just work on one paper right now. Think about the other one when you're done. I know that may be difficult because you are on a strict time line.
I am praying that your pain eases for you. Hopefully the pain doctors can come up something to help you.
Hugs and love,

I got 10 pages typed today. I will worry about the foot petal tomorrow, at worse I can go buy a new one or go borrow my friend's machine for the last bit on the dress.
The papers and the degree are kicking my rear. June 12th and I am done - one way or another. I have been working on this degree for five years. I started when I was ok on OTC meds, now I am only functional for a couple hours a day on morphine.
