Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.

A few years back we did a "Read the Bible" initiative, and tried to get everyone reading. Many people wrote me and told me they were reading their Bible. Beryl is one person I really remember saying how she got into her Bible.
I've read the Bible from cover to cover over 50 times. Many times in modern English, French, German, the NT in Koine Greek and books of the OT in Hebrew.
I always learn more and more. But God uses it to change me, too!
We used workbooks in "Bible" when I was homeschooling my son, and in Sunday School classes when I was a kid, but usually they came as part of a set. Where are you getting individual ones (if you don't mind saying)?
Also, the cover to cover method MarleneJ suggests has been really useful to me for familiarity.
I can also imagine using workbooks for deeper study of a certain passage or subject. Do you get them from christianbook.com or somewhere else?
Thoughts and prayers, jobbie
Peace and blessings to all.
@Lavender. When I took preaching in seminary, our professor was very demanding we listen to and read other preachers, especially the best ones. Haddon Robinson comes to mind..
We also got a subscription to a Preacher's magazine, and a subscription to a preacher's website, with lots of audio sermons. Thanks for bringing that up!
Praying for you all.
I saw my eye doctor and he said I have an inflammatory disease in my eyes. I have to take prednilisone drops 4 times a day for 10 days. I was going well with the drops, then forgot to take them till bedtime tonight. My eyes are doing much better, and it is not super serious, unless I can't get rid of it.
Last night I woke up in agony at 3 am. I got up and took 5 mg of prednisone, then another 10 mg throughout the day. It is night & day. I couldn't go up a 4 inch step, now I can go up several larger stairs. I can walk, move around. -and the stiffness is gone. I asked my rheumatologist to let me go in it, but he wanted to see me worse. Well, this was worse!
It is not a cure, and I will have to come off of it, after I go back on my regular meds. I haven't been that bad since 2015, when my meds failed, and we couldn't find a combo that worked.
Another praise is that we went to a hot spring today, and just relaxed in the water. I went into the cold pool (95F/35C) and dove into the water and swam 3 or 4 strokes. The last time I did that, 2 years ago, I started rolling and I couldn't tell which way was up, and which way was done, because of balance issues. Today I had no issues at all, I was back to normal. Praise God for healing my balance issues!
So, I continue to pray for everyone. Please post praise reports when your prayers are answered. I know it might take years, I praise God my answers were quick in coming.
