Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.

I actually do have a few prayer requests. How about starting with please pray for me that I, too, like your mom, will have strength and faith in God to move on and trust God to take care of my daughter's future. And please pray for me that God will heal me from the pains at the left shoulder and upper arm that have been bothering me for at least two years now. Thank you.
I’m sorry about your mother’s health issues. I’m thankful she has a caring child to care for her. “Heavenly Father, touch Hereforyou’s mother. Heal her physically, emotionally, or spiritually according to your perfect will. Give her peace as she recovers. Also Lord, touch Herefor. Give her your perfect peace and strength for each day. Bless her Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
My prayer requests are regarding my ill mother who I care for usually except now I am suffering from a possible broken toe and cracked rib.

Amen
LavenderC - praying for your health and faith, and your daughter's future....
Shadowlady - praying for your healing and strength and for your mom.
My requests are for direction. I've been off work for a few years caring for my son. I have been motivated to go back since at least 2016, but so many things are getting in the way. Please pray that God will show me whether to pursue my original type of career, or whether He has something different in store for me. I'm wondering if He wants me to do something different that I could train my substantially disabled son in. And, also my son will need care providers while I am working, I've been looking for providers for a while with no real success.
Thanks in advance to anyone who'll pray for my situation.
My request would be to pray my eyes are fine. I have been in terrible pain, and I just got off a medication that can cause the retinas to detach. It could also be Rheumatoid Arthritis attacking my eyes. My cousin went blind in one eye because of this.
Also for the constant pain I am in. It is so difficult to function, and I need to start studying my courses. I am in a PhD program, studying Disability Theology. And I seem to need a bit of a kick in the pants to get working on it.
Thanks in advance to everyone! Good to hear the prayer needs!
Thanks Hereforyou. I've seen your message and will reply to it soon.
Glad to see you posting again as well MarleneJ. Will definitely add your requests to my list and be praying sincerely and regularly.
Peace and blessings to all.
"A Theiology of Disability : Living as a Theologian of the Cross"
by Mary Schaefre Fast
"Abstract
This article exams the implecations of Luther's theology of the cross for living with disability as well as living as the body of Christ, the church. Existing work on the theologia crucis will contribute to the formation of an inclusive theology of disability. Luther's theology of the cross, also reffered to as the red tread of Lutheran tradition, offers a faithful resource for understanding and accepting disability. The theology of the cross and its interplay with law and Gospel will be examined. This exploration will lead to adiscussion of Christian vocation - how to live as a theologian of the cross. Finally, a theology of disabilty that challenges Christians to live as theologians of the cross, free to embrace and serve all members of the body of Christ, will be suggested."

I want to read more about this subject another time. Please make sure you give your eyes rest. I hope the pains go away soon.
I have been disabled since 1999, but with good meds. I can still almost pass for normal! On bad days, I cannot get out of bed on my own to go to the bathroom. It's all about the meds!
When I did my MDiv. My Capstone, or work experience I decided to work as a chaplain in long term care. It was a gift from God. My father had been dying the year before. I saw him every day, and my husband & I were able to share the gospel with him, and he believed! But he couldn't understand why I was in school, studying. I talked to an Anglican woman priest, who was in the ward, but did lots of visitation. Some people had no one ever visit them. It was a great year, but we moved provinces the next year, which triggered a complete med failure, so I couldn't take the job offered to
Me as a chaplain in this Lutheran long term care.
But my heart still wanted to know more. So, I started a PhD, and found an excellent supervisor and we are working hard to complete this degree. That will get me the credentials to write a book, and promote my idea of caring for the sick and hurting through the internet, and through the local church.
But I am struggling with depression, pray God will lift the curtain over my heart and return my joy.
Love this whole thread, thanks for starting it, HereForYou. You are a welcome addition to our forums!!
I, too, have lived with depressions illness since I was 23 and qualified for disability in 1994, and I also have the fibromyalgia and aches and pains everywhere in my body. I think yours are more severe than mine but it is no fun. I am thinking about this group and the other of your group as places where members can share Bible verses with each other and other things we can do to support each other both in faith and our struggles with our health issues.
Before I joined DS and the Christian groups here as you may remember I didn't read the Bible as much as I should or wanted to. Talking to the members about the Bible made me have to open the Bible and search information online that are Bible related, and I learned a lot from the members. I am glad to still be here and thank everyone for helping this place be like a place of worship. I always enjoy reading your (Marlene's and everyone's) stories.
I hpe you all have a good day today.
