Hello everyone. I am 34 years old and have always worked 'jobs' and not a career.
I was diagnosed with Cancer 2 years ago, left my job at a hospital I worked in (I could not be around germs). During the 15 months of treatments for Cancer I managed to finish my Bachelor's degree (yeah!)
I am now 2 months Cancer free, finally feeling better, and ready to start working again (and in search of something IN my career field!)
I am very excited, yet very nervous and anxious. Having not worked for almost 2 years is a big deal, but having gone through what I have gone through in the past 2 years AND moving into a career that I have no hands on experience is another thing.
I've been on the job hunt for about a month and a half or so. So far, have only had one interview (which I did not get the position). I have applied for about 10 jobs thus far, and so far nothing. I'm starting to get discouraged.
Thanks for listening :)

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

The right "career" will come. Its hard in the world to get a job....don't take it personally. You didn't get the first role because it wasn't meant to be.
Don't give up...of course you will get discouraged...its disheartening, but your not alone..I know MANY people looking for jobs with degrees that are having difficulty.
