I mourn the loss of the future that I thought I would have more than I miss the stbx. Eh, I don't miss him at all. Having kids, having a 50th wedding anniversary, the forever part of it. People lie. I just want to kick their asses. Sorry rbaby.

Agree with you mavsgirl. I mourned that I wasn't going to have that 50th anniversary either.

My ex lied because it is a part of who he is---a liar and deceiver. And he was so good at lying that he deceived even himself for a while. Promises mean nothing to liars. I'm sorry for your pain. :(

I don't know if I would call my stbx a liar, but damn, I get the whole "I could've been there for you forever" bit. Damn it! I am in the "Resent I loved you for twelve years but glad I am moving on but sad about everything I worked toward has been ripped out from under me" stage.

Yep. No 50th wedding anniversary ... I feel nauseated when I hear that song 'Still the One'...Piece of shit - now the kids get Christmas at mom OR dad's house - not just plain at home. Everything will be that way ... and he is such an f'in asshole for that.

Now - for those of you mourning the loss of your 50th anniversary, count me in. That's a huge loss for me, too. Before I could possibly finalize a divorce, I'll have been married for 37 years. Unfortunately, I've endured a lot of betrayal in that 37 years, and I finally decided that even if I stuck it out to the 50 year mark, I wouldn't really enjoy celebrating all that misery and, yeah, hopeless rage.
