Black - hot or positive.
Dont ever put black and white together. Turn breaker off when working on it.
But tell me G, if I turn off the power at the switch box, and check the socket with a voltmeter....

I forgot to try to reset the ground in the other bathroom. I tried the one in my bathroom, but I didn't think about the fact that they might have wired it to the other one. (Back to back in the house.)
