Why are there mostly women here?

I have noticed that the majority of people seeking support on this site, happen to be women. Why do you think that is? I mean, there had to have been a man involved (excluding same sex partners) in the breakup. I find it very helpful to be here, listen and contribute. Don't other men feel this way? P.S. - sorry to those who feel I talk about useless topics and post too much...

I think women are more conditioned and receptive to reaching out for support. Our society conditions men to "suck it up", be a man, don't cry so men aren't as quick to reach out in a support situation.

Just my two cents.

Generally speaking men don't seek help whether if is for divorce, depression, a death, their health... It's cultural. Men are socialized to be in control. Seeking help would be a sign of weakness. It is slowly changing but not fast enough.

I like this topic, over 65% of divorces filed are filed by woman, the average divorce in the US lasts 6.5 years, majority these days are over in 2. A larger percentage of the woman who file file because it it so easy to get out and look for something better, they look at the "breakaway marriage" there life has gotten routine and think the grass is greener.

I am sure I will get responses cause there is a lot of woman in this support group and I love to read everyones words, even when they are harsh reallity. I have learned alot on these posts though and my divorce has caused me to fear the M word just as much as I used to fear the D word!
