I hate to say this, but could it be that the men are the jerks most of the time and have caused the heartache that we come here to help heal? My husband wouldn't set foot in this place because he knows he would be shot down for what he has done to our family...not a feel good place for him!

Well, I have wondered that also, but I am thinking that most men were conditioned to internalize strife of the emotional kind. Boys don't cry, boys don't talk about sentiments of the heart, boys just suck it up and act manly....BAD MEDICINE...

I think that the men who come here, for the most part, are serious about healing and learning for a better tomorrow....there is a lot of perspective to be shared by the men here for us women to learn.

Because we are men, Instructions are for quitters, and are considered another mans opinions.... we as men tend to fix our own problems,

hence this is why to this day the chain guard on my son's bike that I put together on Christmas Eve keeps falling off.

Rman- I can only offer that in my situation my stbx has the emotional depth of a dried-up mud puddle (he is a narcissist- he doesn't have feelings for others and certainly doesn't care for how others feel)- he would never seek out a site like this because he doesn't see the point (he would never self- reflect, feel sad, feel guilty, etc.). I have actually been very impressed with the emotional maturity and level of sharing the men on this site demonstrate- I have never experienced that before- so kudos to you for putting yourself out there! (I will also add that most of my female friends would probably be comfortable coming on here).

We tend to internalize, where women externalize. I learned that from a great woman.

Externalizers keel over due to stress and heart attacks brought on by stress. Which is why most women outlive men.

I agree with all the posts. Women do need to talk about their problems and issues.
We all share a common goal.
I also personally think that the men on this board are the one's who are open, honest and caring. Those that are not here are the one's that do not look inwards and who do not want to better themselves.
In my opinion anyway.

Women just like to talk things out and out and out. Some guys do too, the good ones who aren't just being drunk sluts.

You can find the same thing in In- person Support groups. The only "room" I have seen more men than women is an AA meeting.
