Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. I just thought that I would throw this one out there to see what everyone would dream about and how they would live out their dreams. Here goes mine:
My dream/goal is to sail down to the Bahamas for a winter. It is a pretty realistic goal because my present boat is more than able, but I am going to eventually upgrade a little further.
I look at it this way. I am very fortunate that I can retire at 50 (46 if I get really lucky and the retirement system is fixed). Looking at it this way I have a few years to pay off the credit card debt that I was left with after the divorce goes through. After that I can sell my current boat and put most of the money from it into a down payment into a nice boat that is in the 38-42 foot range. This boat will be a serious blue water cruiser and I will have a few years to equip it this way to get it set up (radar, solar generators, wind genterators, etc). I will have it paid off by the time I retire. I will be able to make an easy living based on my retirement because living aboard a boat is actually a pretty cheap lifestyle.
A sub-dream/goal that is part of this is to make the passage and sail from Hampton to Bermuda someday. The current boat I have isn't able to do that because that is serious bluewater cruising but on the next boat it will be more than do-able.
My ex would hate it when I talked about this dream. She said that I was stupid for saying this and talking about this. Just makes me realize that she wasn't the right person for me. The right person for me will want to join me when I achieve my dream :) If she doesn't come along, at least I will have had one hell of an adventerous life!

Heave I once sailed from Key West over to the Bahamas(back when I was 19). It was a great experience. If you ever need a 1st mate I be glad to come along! My long standing dream is to own a boat and travel by way of ocean.
My immediate dream is to breathe and focus. LOL I have a difficult time doing even that right now!
I want a secure, safe and happy home for my dd6 and me. I want to find ME again because she got lost somewhere in the passing years. I would like to raise my dd6 to be strong, independant and secure in who she is.
I have travelled to London, Hati, Bahamas (that used to be my single stomping ground!!!), St. Kitts as well as in the US...I would like to travel to Ireland and Scotland. I dream of being debt free!!!!
I'm ok with taking things slowly right now...I think I would implode otherwise!!!
