Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. I just thought that I would throw this one out there to see what everyone would dream about and how they would live out their dreams. Here goes mine:
My dream/goal is to sail down to the Bahamas for a winter. It is a pretty realistic goal because my present boat is more than able, but I am going to eventually upgrade a little further.
I look at it this way. I am very fortunate that I can retire at 50 (46 if I get really lucky and the retirement system is fixed). Looking at it this way I have a few years to pay off the credit card debt that I was left with after the divorce goes through. After that I can sell my current boat and put most of the money from it into a down payment into a nice boat that is in the 38-42 foot range. This boat will be a serious blue water cruiser and I will have a few years to equip it this way to get it set up (radar, solar generators, wind genterators, etc). I will have it paid off by the time I retire. I will be able to make an easy living based on my retirement because living aboard a boat is actually a pretty cheap lifestyle.
A sub-dream/goal that is part of this is to make the passage and sail from Hampton to Bermuda someday. The current boat I have isn't able to do that because that is serious bluewater cruising but on the next boat it will be more than do-able.
My ex would hate it when I talked about this dream. She said that I was stupid for saying this and talking about this. Just makes me realize that she wasn't the right person for me. The right person for me will want to join me when I achieve my dream :) If she doesn't come along, at least I will have had one hell of an adventerous life!

This really gets me ready and makes me want this dream even more!!!
My dream isn't nearly as grand - it's rather simple (but seemingly very difficult to attain). I would really like to find someone to be in a partnership with and have a family. I know I'm starting late, so I would be fine with one child. I'd like to have someone that I can look forward to raising a child with and someone to spend my years with after our child is grown.
I've been rather independent all my life - I have a good job, my own home, and can DO for myself in those regards. I want someone to be my heart-friend and lover. I want someone who will invest in me and US and allow me to do the same. I want someone who knows me like no other that I can trust to be there to catch me when I fall.
yeah, I'm a sap. LOL
And being a Virgo, you are very detail oriented, methodical, and determined. Like I said, make sure you send pics once you get to the Bahamas! :-)
It will be a few years until the Bahamas....like 19-15 years.
My dream is to see various parts of Europe. I love traveling!
