All of these comments really hit the spot. My x and i have been separated 7 weeks now and I had a son before we met. my son who turns 16 today doesnt know what is going on because he lives half hour away with father and i know it will hurt him. i dont care if my x wants to be mean to be me but he better not ignore my son. my son loves him dearly and they have been in each other's lives for 8 years. why can;t our x's just think about other people beyond themselves!!

Oh honey, I hear ya, my ex is evil, I've tried and tried and you know what, he won't change. No, it is their lot in life to just rub us the wrong way. And ya know, it is even harder when you can't get the crap out of your head from the past and then there is just more crap piled on......ughhhhhh
I'm going through counseling now to work on getting himout of my head...ONCE AND FOR ALL! They are still making the mess and we are still going around trying to clean it up.

The internet destroys marriages because it allows men and women to think that they can have anything that they want. They can sit at home or work and basically shop online for a new romance. The internet has made reaching out in some ways just too easy for those who have a weak nature. Why be faithful when there is more out there, more,. more, more. It is disguisting. Where have morals, values and self respect gone????

I try to be nice, but I believe my x pushes my buttons just so I will react and then he can blame me for being irrational. I even avoid, ignore or change the subject when he pushes the buttons, but I eventually break and then can't stop.
However, I believe people in general, are not nice. I could be walking the dog and another person is coming towards me, we are the only 2 on the street and they can't say Hi, even when I say Hi first. Nice , kind people are rare. Maybe I have blinders on because of my situation, but I do try to be nice. sometimes it just doesn't pay.
Anyone else get free sarcasm with their child support payment?

It has been so long since I've had a child support payment I would take the free sarcasm...maybe even pay a little for it. June what does he have to be sarcastic about..he choose his life didn't he?

Just so you all know, there are at least some men in the world who still believe in kindness and would try as hard as possible to not hurt anyone. (me, for one). Of course, that makes us the victims of the women who have the same problem. In my case, my wife (who wants a divorce) was only interested in what I could do for her and LITERALLY as soon as she obtained what she needed from me, she asks for a divorce. She forgets all of the great times we've had together and how much I love her and how I'd ALWAYS be by her side no matter what.

I will show her that I will come out the better person in all this. I will not stoop to her level of callousness. She will in due time see what she has done.

I agree that it is both mena nd women that act this way. I am the classic example. I don't want the divorce, don't want the infedility he has brought to this family, don't want to be on this road. So I harbor much anger. Which in turn makes things difficult. My answer to the question, why? is that its the nature of the beast. We(men and women)
react when we think an injustice has been served.As a woman, mother, wife, I will do anything to protect my family. However, my anger gets in the way. Of the 5 steps of grieving, I seem to be stuck in the anger phase.

STOP being so nice! It doesn't seem tobe getting you anywhere, honey! Be neutral...except on the support checks! That's a court order and it should com,e on time and NOT be made of rubber!
Are you needing a little therapy to help you get thru this difficult time...and perhaps, give you some ideas on how to take care of YOU....not HIM!!!!KJL

Kathiesluck, I have reach the point with him trying to take the house now, that, we are going back to court, I have told him I am done being nice and NOW he hasn't talked to or seen our son in a week. I only stayed so long in marriage because I saw how badly he made it for the 1st wife. He's angry and just mean verbally, which hurts just as much as if he hit, Our son did not do anything to deserve this, Yes Son is angry at Dad about the house situation, but what did he expect he told son he was keeping house and doing everthing for him to keep him close to Dad, and then Dad just says Oh well, son I guess your just going to have to move.
So as you can see I do stand up for myself but will not stoop to calling names as he does or trying to control and make life difficult for him as he does ours. I sometimes think he acts like this to hide his own insecurities and unhappiness. I don't know , but I do know he's really messing with his sons head and pushing him away, and will lose out a wonderful thing watching and being part of sons life.
