It's been a little while since I visited this great support forum. I am doing so much better now than 5 months ago. I felt that I was ready to meet some new people, and get on with life and such Along came this woman, who was extremely intelligent, confident, and there was this instance mutual connection between us, which she explicitly expressed on several occasions. Communication had been frequent, conversations were long and stimulating, and the dates were just perfect. On the 3rd date, we were at the restaurant for almost 5 hours. Sparks were flying, and we ended up going back to my place. Although it was a little awkward the first time being intimate, I thought it was quite sensual, and there was plenty of tenderness. The next day, I took day off work, and we spent the afternoon together roaming around our little college town. Things could not be going better. Then all of a sudden, she started back-paddling, giving the excuse of being too busy to get together with me. Too much work, too many lunch/dinner plans with friends, etc. And communication has pretty much seized in the last a few days. I know I made it clear that I was very interested, and wanted to spend time with her. Ball is in her court at this point. She turned me down twice, and I am not going to ask again obviously. This little romance lasted just about a month, and ended as quickly as it started.
I am really baffled about this one She is 36, has 2 kids, and definitely is serious about dating. I am certain she is not in it for the thrill. I dont know how she went from I feel so lucky to have met you to cut me out completely so suddenly. She still has a book that I had loaned her, and maybe she will return it at some point. I am attempted to ask her what happened if/when she contacts me. But I also know the explanation, even if true, will only make me feel worse about the situation. I am just going to let it go, and wish her the best.
The ups and downs of dating. Sigh

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

It could be any one of a number of reasons.
I am not dating yet this is all new to me but hopefully your next relationship will go better....I recall dating as being frustrating and now I have kids so not looking forward to that!
I have also decided, for me, next relationship, I will wait until we have dated for a couple months, get to know each other better before becoming intimate. Since becoming intimate tends to cloud my judgement in the relationship (harder to walk away), and I only want to be intimate with those who have proven themselves to be serious about having a relationship.
I am sorry you had to experience this, I know it is confusing isn't it when you think things are going swell, and the other suddenly changes their mind for what appears to be little to no reason.
