I woke up today feeling a little better. I had a little more energy and went about my day. I ran into a woman who used to live with an old friend of mine.
I hadn't seen her in over 20 years. We talked for about 20 minutes and got caught up a bit. We even exchanged numbers.
I have no interest in her other than it would be nice to have a friend. But shortly after talking to her all I could think of was my ex.
One thing I'm really struggling with is that I though my ex and I pretty much felt the same about each other but when she ended things she pointed out that we were in completely different headspaces.
Here I was crazy about this person and here she was no longer having any feelings for me anymore. She said those feelings started to fade over the last several months that she felt like she was pulling away.
I'm stuck today. I cant shake knowing that just a few short weeks ago my life seemed good and I thought she felt the same and now I'm alone, heartbroken, missing her and feeling lost again.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
Good for you for getting out and that's great that you may have made a new friend. I definitely think you should call this woman, as a friend. Call and ask if she'd like to meet for coffee. I do think it is good for you to have friends right now.
You're doing great.... just keep going.
Continuing to let your emotions out and think about how you feel and how much you love yourself.
What are you doing to get yourself back in shape and moving forward to living your life?
You are single now, but don't rush into anyone, its not healthy if you don't let these emotions heal.
Take some time in church, in volunteering to help others. You will find that the more you help others the better you will feel.
Keep telling your story, someone out there needs to hear it.
It's hard to stay busy being off work at the moment but I'm trying.
