So disgusted with myself for putting up with this
I have been married to my alcoholic / crack using husband for 20 yrs. I cannot tell you the THOUSANDS of dollars that have been wasted with his addiction, the work time he has missed and fines , court fees, other court mandated programs that he has been ordered to attend. He has been to County Jail 2 times because he failed an alcohol or drug test. He has been on an alcohol teather that cost us almost $100 a week. This past April he was fired from his job of 19 yrs because of missed work. He went to get his tools and last paycheck ( he is a very talented finish carpenter) and of course I didn’t see him for days. I got a phone call from a hospital emergency room nurse telling me he was brought by ambulance. He was found at a motel totally unresponsive. He had overdosed on heroine and was minutes from death. The EMT’s had to give him the shot in his heart to get him breathing again. THIS IS A 56 YR OLD MAN.Theykept him in the hospital for 9 days to detox him. His arms and legs were strapped down and I watched this man fight and struggle for days. When he got out of the hospital, he never skipped a beat. He went right back to his usual crap. Of course he won’t tell his family. I have tried to talk to his mother and brother but no one wants to hear about it. We have NO friends. About 3 weeks ago he came home drunk and went to the garage. I snuck out there to hear him talking to some woman. He met her at one of his court mandated programs. When he came in the house I confronted him about her. He told me about her and then proceeded to go to her house and smoke crack all night with her. Last night I brought her up because I am SO mad at him about her. He had been talking to her for 2-3 yrs. He has NEVER apologized to me about any thing he has done. He told me last night that I cause him to do the tings he does....WHAT ?...He was an alcoholic and crack user well before I met him, he just hid it well. My kids and grandkids are my life, but my son and his family moved to another state for a great job and my daughter moved about an hour away, so I’m so terribly lonely. I do not enjoy his company at all. So I say as little as possible to him and he says that I’m being disrespectful to him. WOW !. I am on disability and he has this piddly little job ( once he was fired from his job of 19 yrs, he thought companies would be knocking the door down to hire him ) NOPE....didn’t happen. I own our home before I even met him, I’ve asked him to leave but he won’t....So I thought about leaving but I know he wouldn’t pay the mortgage and it would affect my credit score. So, I feel very stuck. I am at a loss. There’s way more to tell, but maybe another day....TY

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

You are enabling him.He needs to hit rock bottom on his own and no I guess being revived and close to death wasnt his rock bottom( smh),
Neither was being fired that was not rock bottom either, He really needs help
to find out why he is slowly knocking on deaths door and not fearful,
You have to make a plan and set up an intervention, You need to be around
positive Energy and Loving Light, You can join a support group for family members of addicts, Great friendships can also be made there and in other

Within him as with all of us there lies an Inner Child that needs to be released from past traumas and even present traumas, I do pray that one day he
becomes at peace and he discovers and releases this InnerChild and any past traumas that fuels his addiction and yes he is set free.
Focus on you and having a healthy life again Lots of Light and Bright Energy
your way, Hugs,
Look good people...just do what they do.
Yeah, sucks that you've spent that much time with him, but you're FAR from alone in doing so.
Now's time to give yourself credit for working on getting free.
Healing hugs, Patti
If the house is yours I would have him legally evicted and/or if it's in your name you can put it up for sale
If you need to for safety I would get a restraining order
You can join Al anon or Nar anon for support..... They're both free and can help a great deal with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness
I feel for you....It's a hard road...… Big hug and a blessing.....xo
