So, she finally admitted after all this time and years of putting you thru this, she wants a divorce. I think deep down you knew it was coming. I know you drive about 150 miles per day, but I would cut back the hours on one or quit one altogether. Rman, I feel for you. I have seen your posts for over 2 years now. My heart breaks for you and your kids. But, now it's time to get into action and seek a lawyer, don't get caught behind the 8 ball and get someone at the last minute. My guess is she was out looking for the right one, you need one that will fight. She needs to get a job and support herself, and the courts will make her do that. Talk to a lawyer and I believe in MD, if you KNOW or have proof of infidelity at all, you can counterfile on that, and she will be fucked. Just a thought.

I think you said one time she said she hated you. I think that would have been a good indicator that it is over. In most divorces it is all about wheeling and dealing. Like said before any man/woman who lets the other person sit at home is setting themselves up. I have said this before. You may be still working those 2 jobs afterwards because her lawyer does not care about you.

I have a relative who is getting spousal support at $1600 a month as long as no other man moves in the house or she gets married. Plus she gets CS.

UGH! I can't stand it anymore. Am I the only one who takes offense to "letting the spouse stay home?" I was a SAHM for a number of years while my kids were young. It was a joint decision and I honestly believe it was for the best of our family. I missed out on building my own career and finishing my education. It's not all fun or easy staying home rearing children. I'm sorry but the way people are wording it makes it sound like the SAHP is a freeloader.

I agree Ms. Red...I was a stay at home mom for 6 years until my lawyer told me, I had a career before kids, and I was CAPABLE of getting a job and working. So that's what I did...I was stupid but I also needed insurance, so I needed to go back, even for that. I do take offense to anyone that thinks being a SAHM is a picnic. Our job doesn't end...ever, and doesn't quit after 8 hours. I did mostly everything around the house from cutting the lawn, cleaning, fixing things, changing toilets, taking care of appts for everything , doctors visits, car fix visits, school visits, you name it, I probably did it not to mention being the one that was up with the kids all night as babies or when they got sick bc I didn't have to be somewhere at 7 am. Now I still have to do those things with 2 hours a night and can't get jack shit done. I think being a SAHM is one of the hardest jobs I ever did, and I have had enough jobs to know. But, that being said, it was also the most rewarding...something you could never gain by an employer.
