Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
My lawyer explained to me that men who allow their wives to stay at home are setting themselves up for this. For every year that they are permitted, for lack of a better word, to stay home, the woman is to be paid for six months - after the marriage is over.
Of course, the reverse is also true for dead beat husbands.
This is the situation in Ohio anyway.
I lucked out in my second marriage. I nagged my wife to get out of the house and work after a couple of years of her slacking (no kids). She would work for about six months and then quit or get fired.
When she tried to file for spousal support, the judge told her that if she could work for six months of the year, then, she could work for the whole year. DENIED!
I guess she'll have to start working.. and maybe you can lose one of your jobs....Oh wow - you may have a real life after all....Maybe that drummer dream will come true :-)
I imagine there is some relief now that you know what is going to happen,k as opposed to remaining stuck for years, being miserable and feeling trapped. At least this way, you can pursue some affection from someone else and there is a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of debt.
Good luck Rdood.
The end of one chapter, is the beginning of another.
maybe it won't be a worse case scenario. maybe a lawyer can help you find something workable.
hang in there
