This is really tough...I haven't had sex but twice in two years, and my stbx just moved out 3 months ago. I'm in my early 50s and I feel like when I met my stbx, when I was 47, I came into my full glory and desire of sex. Stbx was very touchy/feeling, but sex dramatically tapered off....probably something to do with a medication he went on (that's when it stopped). So I am so craving sex, and real human touch, closeness. However the thought of a one night stand is revolting to me, and I just think it would take me forever, to ever feel close enough and trusting enough to let a person that physically close to me again.....I can only hope. I have to trust it will come with time when the right person is there.

I miss being able to tell "him" anything, to share what I'm feeling and to let that emotion move me to "connction" Our connection was lost long ago, where I felt, fearful of touching at wrong time or place. Saying what was on my mind and finding out he "just didnt' care" I can do without that pain.

and IF it's God's will, I'll find a Man, who will allow me to be me, needy, loving, giving, sharing, full of emotion!!

Clearly I'm not ready for a relationship since this topic made me a little nauseous. I think I miss intimacy until I actually read or talk about it, then I become remarkably uncomfortable. When I can think about kissing a man without feeling the bile rise in my throat, I'll know I'm on my way to healing (geez that sounds awful)! In the meantime, I cuddle with my dogs a lot. My Lab likes me to hold his paw; it's kinda cute.

I knew that I was in Serious trouble when my Boxer started looking Good. I began to LAUGH at Men who thought that THEY had problems. I think that my walls even have some scratch marks :-/

I CRIED every time I heard someone say that they had made it a YEAR without sex. The ones who have gone Longer...OMG!!! Forgive me, I admire your stamina, but I think that I would have caved much sooner-I may be a "prude" in many ways, but I was Dying.

Totally Meaningless was my next stop. I could hate myself later. And I would have, but I would have had some fun for a bit first.

My sons father claimed that I "wore him out". He saw that as a bad thing. I think that if Married People spent more time having Sex and less time in front of the damned TV there wouldn't be so much divorce.

Ok, I will make you all feel better....I have not had sex in 6 years and 12 days, but who's counting?!!?? I miss having someone to hold in bed, to hug, to kiss. But as I am pretty old-fashioned and have only been with my ex, I cannot think about casual sex or one-night stands. Well, I can THINK about it but know in my heart I can't go there...damn! ;-)

Wow, what a subject. I have to say that I really miss the intimacy but I also really miss the sex. But until I heal myself, I am no good to anyone. And casual sex is something that just isn't for me. They have to be special. After 23 years with the same person, I am terrified. So until the time comes, I will settle for massages and facials at the spa.

I miss genuine affectionate touch, really, really miss it. Unfortunately for me, I find myself completely turned off to the idea of sex because of what I have been thru with stbx and that makes me very, very angry. I don't think I am ruined for life, by any means, but an example of how bad it is is now is when I go to the bookstore and any cover that says it has anything to do with sex makes me put the book down right away. I need some good examples of what healthy sex is before I go there again with anyone. My experience with my stbx for the secong half of our marriage was sexually horrific, including heavy porn use coupled with heavy habitual masturbation (no reason for that, I was still the hot mamaa I always was, he just wasn't interested in the real life stuff anymore) all the way up to marital rape, so go figure.

I couldn't help but get involved with this subject as it has been eating at me something terrible. When my husband/stbx went to our first and only marriage counseling he brought up how our sex life had been an issue for him. Well, he had never talked to me about it and hadn't been showing much interest either. Over the next few weeks, while separated, it became very clear to me that there was something awakening inside of me. Casual sex is definitely not an option for me and being that we're still trying to decide whether to make a go of it we've definitely decided not to date anyone but eachother for now. We've kind of come together in a way that we haven't in a long, long time. Sometimes I feel kind of guilty about it and I know he does too but, like you, I truly miss the intimacy and it's just felt so good to feel awakened and somewhat sexy again. It really can be healthy in alot of ways. We just don't want to make eachother feel like we're using eachother in some way. But somehow I think we are.
