So my wife texted me this morning for small talk. It has been one of many small talks she always starts without even leading to discuss what is really important, which is about us. The text didn't last much. After about 50 minutes of silence, I pretty much ended the conversation by telling her if there's anything she needs, to let me know. I just don't know why she texted me about something that isn't about us. I do want to talk about us, but I know I can't just bring it up if she's not ready. I don't want to show that I'm pushy or demanding. I know that if she's ready to talk about us, she'll talk. And I know many people will say that I should probably be the one to bring up the conversation, but even I know I need to step back when I need to.
