Are you guys catching the news about the plane that just crashed into the Hudson River. A descent sized air plane hit a flock of geese and the engines both died. THe pilot was able to get the plane landed into the Hudson River and kept the plane in tact. Boats got out to the plane and got everyone off of the plane.

Emergency crews did an amazing job getting the people off of the plane and the pilot did an amazing job to make this emergency landing!

I work across the hall from ABC News and saw it on my way past them. We were watching it for a bit in there.

I think that the airline crew and the pilot should get some award and recognition. The pilot and the air crew did an amazing job and they saved these people's lives.

The pilot is a hero. He was able to pilot a plane with no engines to an area where it was safe for him to crash land without endangering other people and he was able to land the plane in the water and save all these lives at the same time!

When I lived in Alaska an AWAC plane was taken down and all on board were killed by geese being sucked into the engine. It was a terrible thing.

Christie....You are right...The pilot is a HERO in the biggest sense of the word. Too many people dismiss the actions of people like this by saying that they were just doing their job. The people who make these interjections have no idea what Heroism is really about. The pilot did an excellent job of piloting that plane and making it safe for the people on the plane and on the land!

I agree, the pilot is a hero. He thought quickly and found a way to give the safest landing he could. That's a huge accomplishment.

And bless the crew that helped make sure everyone survived.

That pilot could pilot my plane any day.
