I do not consider myself high maintenance in monetary or superficial ways at all. I have a good job, own my own car, house, etc. I'm not high maintenance in that I see a partner as someone who should or will buy me things or provide me things I cannot provide for myself.
However, I KNOW and will readily admit that I am high maintenance when it comes to what I expect a partner to put INTO the relationship. In other words, I want/need someone that makes me and the relationship a priority. Someone that is self aware and open that is willing to communicate effectively (or find ways to do so), to take an active role in our life together, to be able to identify issues or roadblocks in the relationship and takes the initiative to resolve them. I want someone who understands that a relationship between two people is constantly growing and changing, as people do, and is willing to weather that growth and change WITH me.
Yep, I know I demand a lot. I'm not saying I always get it, but that's my wish list. By the same token, I offer a lot as well. I would never demand things of my partner that I'm not willing to give in return.
I don't get my nails done. I don't go to the salon on a regular basis. I've NEVER dyed my hair. I don't have to have the latest fashion. I don't get anything waxed. I don't spend hours in the bathroom getting ready, and I don't feel like I have to wear make up and have my hair done every time I leave the house.
The above is what I consider to be high maintainance.
I'm just a jeans t-shirt and tennis shoes kind of girl, although I will dress up for certain occasions.
You had to post a real response. Your making us one liners look bad.
Material things mean nothing.
I am old fashion, if i am with a woman, she is mine as i am hers, this doesn't mean that she can't do what she wants. It's more respect, kind of like if you'd like to play the field, then don't be with me.
I think someone who is high maintenance likes drama. Thinks their needs are number one.
I will take low like me. But I can handle either.
Example: She wants flowers all of the time, dinner out and movies all of the time, and other things.
The other kind of high maintenance is emotional high maintenance. This is not a bad kind.
Example: Wanting to get hugs and kisses a lot. Someone who enjoys leaving sweet messages.
I think that I may be a bit high maintenance in the emotional side of things. I like to get kisses and hugs and I never want to leave with her angry or me being angry. I miss cuddling with someone too.

I found my song.
On the emotional side, I dont think Im high maintenance there either.
