I lost a friend today
Someone I have never met
I must say,
She may be gone, but I will never forget
The humor, the strength, the sass
Though I never heard her speak
I can hear her tell you to kiss her ass
Ever fighting, always there, never meek.
I lost a friend today
if I am ever Somewhere over the rainbow,
up where those Bluebirds fly
one thing you ought to know is that I just may have to wipe a tear from my eye
but now you are free from the pain, free from the fears,
our loss will soften after a while
we all morn for you and shed many tears, that will give way to a smile
every time we think of you.
Believe this for sure
there is always a corner in my hear that us yours
I lost a friend today....
We ALL lost a friend today

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

I'd like to share a poem that was shared with me when my brother passed away many years ago (he was only 16). This brought me such comfort and I now dedicate it to Nova....gone in body, but never forgotten.
Weep not for me family dear
For I am not dead,
Just resting here.
As I am now, so you shall be
So be prepared to follow me.
Short was my life
Long is my rest
To take me home, God thought it best
(~ author unknown to me)
As you say we never knew her in person, but she shared so much of herself on here. A very special lady.
May she now rest in peace and be free from any pain or suffering.
I will remember her when I do the 3 day breast cancer walk later this year, and do it in her honour together with other friends of mine.
:-)
RIP Nova--you walk with the Lord now.
Lovely tribute, Jack.
