Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I feel deeply saddened by her exit from our lives.
I know most here didn't know Nova and can't fully appreciate what a loss of this unique soul is. If this was posted a year or a year and a half ago there would probably be 500 hits.
Many of us joined around the same time 4 or 5 years ago and Nova was a integral part of that group. She was a unique voice that infused humor and a quirky perspective on life, and life's issues. She forced us to think.
She was always lurking about and always available to support those who needed help. There was way more to her than met the eye. I recently heard a story from a mutual friend, who was also a visible member here, that when she was having financial difficulty Nova contacted her via message and insisted she send her money to help her out. She said, "I don't need it, you do, and I would rather help someone than spend it on things I don't need." Friend 2 declined it but she will never forget the selfless gesture which came from such an authentic place of wanting to just help a friend in need.
That's who she was. Many here did not realize that about her.
I had a ongoing conversation with her on Facebook about a month or so ago about life after death, the existence of god or something greater than us and what would happen to her when she died. She didn't really believe in any of it and was struggling with it. She was trying to wrap her brain around it. Nova was an intellectual (She was a HS Latin teacher among other things) She was incredibly intelligent and questioned everything which I believe got in the way of believing in anything beyond the (her) thinking mind. It saddened me that she was dying and struggling in this way. She would say that she thought "I will be where I was before I was born, suspended in nothingness, quiet, no awareness." Peace.
Well Nova, now you know, Your surrounded by joy, love and peace. I have no doubt. I used to tell her that I would believe for both of us and I teased her about sending me a postcard so I would know for sure. I'm waiting for that postcard. :)
There were many of us who knew Nova on different levels. I talked to many since her death. Some knew her intimately and talked or communicated often. Others simply watched her and interacted, if at all, here on threads. Either way she was a presence here and later on FB and a piece of the greater puzzle we all shared for so long. we all were a part of that and we all are deeply effected and saddened by her departure.
Thank you Nova for sharing your unique perspective and voice with us for so long. You will be greatly missed.
You were a warrior I feel honored to have known.
You will be greatly missed.
Go in peace my friend.
Godspeed
"You mustn't be afraid of death, you're a deathless soul,
you can't be kept in a dark grave, you're filled with God's glow."
~Rumi~
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

Peace Nova
I was one of the lurking ones who interacted with her now and again on the board, and appreciated her intelligent and insightful comments, and now thanks to you, I feel I know here even more. She really was a very special person.
So sad to hear that in her last month she was still struggling with coming to terms with her death, but I sincerely hope that she has now finally found peace.
May she rest in peace.
I'll add to bump this up, for her.
RIP with the Angels, Nova.
Ber at peace my friend.... always in a little corner of my heart
I would have given her my lifetime if possible. She surely did burn bright.
