I divorced in 10/2015. Wife wanted the divorce after 19 years together. She was checked out. Later I found out she had been cheating for a while, screwing around with whomever she could it seems. Years (2 or 3) of lies and cheating. I was pretty crushed. Very rough time.
But you have to continue. Live. Eat, sleep. I had a daughter to take care of, 8 at the time, and 50% custody. So I put on a pleasant face whenever she was with me. I tried to get out - when I could tolerate it, because so often he depression makes you want to hide away. But I had more time to indulge in some hobbies. Spent more time with my family. Slowly got used to the new way of things. Blocked the ex from my life in every way I could (never 100% with minor kids in the picture).
Now, I am doing WAY better. Yeah there is still some residual pain and anger, and I still think about what-ifs now and then. But not often. I have a girlfriend, I've been gigging in a band, I just bought a house. My new life is pretty cool. The ex can go jump off a cliff for all I care.
You'll get there. It takes time but it also takes you deciding to put your efforts and focus into other things - friends, family, hobbies, etc. You'll build a new lifestyle and it can be really great!
Best wishes to you. Hang in there. This site helped me a lot in 2015.
