Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

So I'm in the middle of a protracted legal battle. Stbx is an idiot for many reasons, just one being that he left a letter to his lawyer on our home computer. I read it and was furious!!! It was titled The Story and was a bunch of his beliefs about how I should be brought to my knees in the divorce settlement. It started from when we were married (he got the year wrong) and went on in chronological order to the present. OMG. He got all the dates wrong, amounts paid for things wrong, amount of money I inherited from my mom wrong, amount of money he thinks I'm hiding way wrong (cause I'm hiding nothing). He discounted everything I ever did for the marriage, and oh so conveniently left our enormous issues that he created which lead to the ultimate demise of our financial stability and our marriage. So, I got my handy dandy cross out tool and red highlighter out on Word and set to editing the document to reflect MY Story. It was certainly draining, I'm not even almost done, and I want to check dates/figures. I might do nothing with this document, but he has stated before that he wants a trial, and this document feels like a lawyer's opening remarks (if there is such a thing in a divorce trial). Apparently his lawyer does not want to go that far anymore, according to my lawyer. I might be wasting my time with this, but I feel compelled to set the record straight. Not that he'd ever believe anything other than what he believes. Numbers lie. Facts lie. What he FEELS is what counts. OMG. Even his lawyer seems exasperated at him.
Anyway, I guess I just need to rant. I've injured my knee and haven't run for two weeks, so I'm feeling out of sorts and worried that I'm losing my mojo. We have a 4 way conference on Thursday, and I'm worried because I haven't received his request for documents, and my lawyer hasn't provided his with my requests either. I think the lawyers are losing their mojo too.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

If his lawyer then uses that, then your lawyer can line, by line, by line destroy his case.
So go grab some weights, do an upper body and core workout, and seize your mojo!!! It's there!!!
Cleigh I should get those weights out....here an excuse, but it's weak - I also have a cold. Wah. I ususally do work out even with a cold. Maybe a double dose of caffine is in order today. Screw it, triple! We'll likely have an icestorm tonight so I might not have to get into work till 9:40 tomorrow. Yeah, triple it is!
Both lawyers told us not to lie, that you'll get caught. Stbx has been lying all along and you know what? He gets away with it. I do find some satisfaction when I can bring the lie to his lawyer's attention and see the response there!
May I suggest few simple temporary relief measure to vent your emotions.
Write or talk it out, keep yourself active, remember good things that happened in your life and do all things that you love, try an 'obsession diet', provided there has to be a sincere desire on your part to get over it.

I managed to have copies of everything the ex sent to his Gf/wife. So I knew when he was lying to me. I knew exactly what he wanted and how he would try to cause me financial harm.
My atty had covered all my what ifs in the divorce decree. The ex tested everyone of them and we were ready to show him to be a liar in the three contempt hearings after the divorce. If you have any more trouble from your stbx you can be somewhat prepared to show he is lying.
