Interesting quote, but one that doesn't fit for me. Anger happens, but not so much at only those you love. We may take out things on those we love as they are in the closest rnage, but our anger, most likely lies elsewhere.

my ex-wife "hated' me too. i think that for her, it was her way of easing her own guilt for her affairs if she could find fault in everything I said or did.

I found that by not fighting back or rising to her baits or taunts, was the best, most effective way of combatting her.

It is hard to carry on a fight when only one person is fighting. After she moved out, when she came around to pick a fight, I just told her that if she wanted to fight she could just piss off. I wasn't interested. Drove her nuts. :))

You know, I consciously made a decision NOT to hate my Ex. Even when we separated, even through his cheating, and through his lack of effort when we tried to reconcile. I didn't want to hate hom just because we have a kid together, but because I do remember why I loved him, I remember why I fell for him, and I know, regardless of our outcome, he is inherently a good guy. It's all the good stuff we had that makes me know that, even though I can't be married to him, I don't wish him ill will or hate him. I just don't have the energy to spend hating him when I can spend my energy doing positive things to enhance my life.

I absolutely hate what he did to me. I hate that he doesn't care and justifies his actions. I don't hate HIM, but I could never trust him with my being again. So I have to let him move on.

I had to hate him for what he did to me
otherwise I couldn't live with myself

but its not in my temperament to be that way
and so it slowly just went away
